I'd just about kill for a decent Tex-Mex place and I was hoping for an On The Border. Mexican food here sucks and although OTB isn't the best I've had it makes a joke out of the Mexican / Tex-Mex restaurants in Manhattan.
You have absolutely horrible taste.
Oh my gosh... you're right. I mean, growing up in a Latino family what the hell would I know about Mexican food! Right... whitey!?!?
If you think OTB is "good" Mexican food, you grew up in an American-Latino family, not a Mexican-Latino family. No different that a American-Whitey family.
I actually grew up in a bit of both. Mom & Dad = basically a white household. Grandma & Grandpa = Mexican household.
Something important to remember here, I didn't say I wanted Mexican food. I can for the most part make that (aside from the homemade tortillas), or have it made anytime I want. My specific request was for a Tex-Mex place. Living in tejass around all the Tex-Mex restaurants got me hooked on Tex-Mex. Hence... the search for a decent fajita in Manhattan. Anybody who thinks Chili's fajita's are good... umm... no. Sh*tty tortilla's. OTB gets the nod b/c they're the best I've had since I've been back in KS aside from Baja Fresh. Of course, they couldn't survive in KC so now I'm on the quest for a decent Fajita. Somebody said that ElCaz has decent fajitas so I'm going to give them a try but again, El Caz is more traditional mexican food not Tex-Mex.
Now I will say... Coco Bolo's = Rockin but I haven't had their fajitas yet.
Sh*t... hungry again. By the way if you like steak and ever get down to DFW or another city that has a Texas De Brazil
