The three finalists were Austin Freeman, Michael Beasley and Blake Griffin. Freeman, a Georgetown signee, scored a 41 in the semis. Beasley, a Kansas State signee, and Griffin, an Oklahoma signee, both scored perfect 50 point dunks in the semis to move on.
Beasley went with a between the legs windmill, his trademark dunk contest dunk. Griffin stood at the free throw line with his back to the basket, bounced the ball off the backboard, caught it and hammered it home.
In the finals, Beasley mised a toss off of the backboard/between the legs dunk twice. Griffin did another power dunk and claimed the crown.
