We went 7-10 vs the other teams in the top 10. F-ing amazing. Video coming in summer to celebrate the dominance.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Kansas State had an amazing turn-around, so there is nothing wrong with making a video to celebrate it. The title "Decade of Dominance" seems to irritate a lot of other fans though.

FWIW: NU was 10-10 vs the top 10 teams during that time period.

(correct me if I'm wrong resident husker fans)

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
Fats, whats with the negativity towards Kstate lately?
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

K-state had an amazing run, especially if you consider how much of a turn-around it was. In 2003, if Ell Roberson hadn't been injured I think you guys had the talent to run the table.

NU was all over the place during Osborne's career. It was obviously pretty dominant towards the end, but there were a lot of years where it really struggled against the top schools. In fact, for most of Osborne's career people said he couldn't win the 'big one' or big games, period.

I am actually disappointed Snyder retired when he did, it could have been an interesting series. It was really only an even series for about 4 years (1998-2001) because then Nebraska went off a cliff.

I hope Ron Prince makes you good again but never beats Nebraska. The big 12 north needs to be strong. When Colorado, KSU, and Nebraska all fell the last few years, it really went down the tubes.

FWIW, I think Snyder was one of the greatest coaches ever.

Tell me if I'm wrong, do you think that snyder wasn't as paticular and as detailed as he needed to be in his last two horrid seasons, or was it that we lacked talent? And just think if instead of Vince Young putting Ksu second on his recruitment list instead of choosing Texas how our fortunes would have changed for the better.

Before I answer this I want you to realize that I am a husker fan (just in case you don't)...

Snyder built-up Kansas State against all the odds, and he was a brilliant coach. He also had some really talented assistant coaches around him (Mangino, Stoops, etc.). His success brought a lot of attention, so other programs started taking his assistants. (I know none of this is ground-breaking so far). Without his great assistants, I think the coaching and recruiting fell off a lot as Snyder couldn't be everywhere at once. That, plus the realization that he wasn't getting any younger drove him to retirement.

So basically what I am saying is that I think he was too tired (due to age) to rebuild the program and staff all-over again after his best assistant coaches left, and decided it was time to turn-over the program to a younger, more-energized coach.

Honestly, I really admire him for stepping aside...I think he did it because he cared so much for your program and decided it would be best.

Just my take.

Also, from what I have heard from one of your boosters, a few of your assistant coaches at the end really needed to be fired but Snyder was too loyal. Don't know if that's true though.

What's really disappointing is I thought Evridge could have been your next great quarterback. The flashes he showed as a freshman were really impressive. A couple more years under Snyder and he could have been really special, IMO. (And no, I'm not just saying that because he was from Nebraska and he left your program. I think Freeman will be great too.)

I almost don't like this S. Parker guy. I just get a bad feeling. There is just something really eerie about a Husker fan speaking rationally and speaking in a positive manner towards K-State...

What do you want me to say?  :)

I actually kind of admire your program. You guys do a lot with a little, and it reminds me of the Nebraska of old. Our program was built up, for the most part, on players that weren't highly sought after. Lately we have just sort of become like everyone else. I really like Callahan and I am excited about what he is doing, but I sort of miss the way we used to do things, like with walk-ons for example. (Fortunately, Callahan is showing signs of utilizing that now).

So anyway, you don't have to be paranoid about me. I don't hate Kansas State, but I do wish the relationship between our schools wasn't so nasty.  :beerchug:

As for me being on your board, I laughed my ass off when you guys were taking on the animal rights people. It was hilarious because you guys were defiant, and all of a sudden there was a tidal wave of crazy PETA people all over you. Watching you guys trying to fend off all of them was great.

So besides that, I just really like talking sports, and I love the fact that KGB mods aren't looking for reasons to delete your posts here. On Huskers Illustrated, all you are allowed to say is "go big red," which gets lame fast.

The free atmosphere you have here gets out of control sometimes, but it is a rare find among sports blogs.

If other fans don't flame then we are cool with having them. There are certain posters that just spread crap all over the boards (check out the Litter Box if you are interested in what I am talking about) and that's just annoying. Nobody is annoyed by your presence.

no way, no how should the words Kansas State and decade  of dominance ever be in the same sentance.  You never dominated anyone or anything in football.  You never even had an undefeated season for gods sake.
