Nobody ever said there was a whole chapter devoted to Martin. The chapter was devoted to Miami Senior and their problems, and Martin was in charge of the program at that time.

W R I T E R ' S B I OThe closest Dan Wetzel ever came to major-league sports was hawking popcorn as a 14-year-old at Fenway Park. The main sport then was conning Yuppies out of their change.
Wetzel, 29, attended the University of Massachusetts and held internships with the Indianapolis News and Chicago Tribune following graduation. He spent five years as an editor and writer at Basketball Times and has won 14 national writing awards including five consecutive years in investigative reporting from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
He has been featured in the past four editions of the The Best American Sports Writing. The co-author of the critically-acclaimed investigative book Sole Influence, he has been with SportsLine.com since January 2001. He enjoys hanging out in El Paso, Texas, rooting for Marathon Oil Basketball, and considers Arthur Guinness one of the greatest men to ever walk the earth.

A hint for our Kentucky friends, keep an eye open for sarcasm. You know, like, calling an obviously qualified writer a hack. Or, say, offering an opinion on the quality of a journalist's work when your avatar is Ron Burgandy.

Great interview thus far. Just getting into more detail about JaRon, Magette, Piggie, etc. Hearing this stuff years later is a lot more comfortable than it was then.

I guess they're talking about Roy because Wetzel thinks that Tom Grant started giving JaRon stuff as a junior or senior in HS, not in the 8th grade like actually happened. He fails to mention also that he's done this for other athletes, but not one ever signed with ku. Kareem was part of it, not to the extent that JaRon was, and he wouldn't even look at ku.
Now he's saying Crudup took money from a booster. Wrong. He signed with an agent.
I guess we should all hope Wetzel researched his book better than that this interview, because he's made about 5 factual errors in 3 minutes.

No idea whether he's a good coach or not. Guess we'll find out. They gambled on this thing big time. He has no business being a B12 coach. They're going to close their eyes and hope things work out.

It sounds like they are staying away from Frankenmartin since Wetzel didn't write that specific chapter refering to him.
Looks like they had to defer the conversation to a general discussion of recruiting.

KSU fans had no problem with the book, it was Posnanski that made it sound like there was a "whole chapter" devoted to him in a book that there was also a chapter on Myron Piggie.
