It's sounding like Katz might not be as full as S**T as everyone wants to believe.
Just because McDermott didn't talk to Weiser doesn't mean someone else from KSU didn't.
Katz IS full of crap. There's no question about that.
I don't know what kind of job you've got, but I don't know anybody that has gotten a job offer for a $500K (or greater) job on the FIRST &@#%ing interview!!
While I do believe that somebody from KSU (not Weiser) met with McDermott yesterday on KSU's behalf, I am very confident based on contacts that I have that he WAS NOT made an offer, but was made aware of our level of interest and where he stood in the "pecking order" so to speak.
No one has indicated that it was a first inteview. What you've said makes sense, and McDermott could likely skew the meeting into an offer if terms were discussed.
I can't imagine it being much deeper than the first.... I mean, hell, UNI was playing on FRIDAY of last week. So, assuming that he's getting the same 24-hour days that we all are, I can't see how he was working in the ISU gig AND ours both in three days.
My belief, based on what I've been told by folks much closer to the situation than we are, is that McDermott inquired about the position and he was interviewed by Krause, Fogler, and one other.
