http://blogs.cjonline.com/index.php?entry=1577The offense should be fine. QB Josh Freeman, RB's James Johnson and Leon Patton and WR Jordy Nelson will all be back. Key to the offense will be replacing WR's Yamon Figurs and Jermaine Moreira as well as Greg Wafford and Michael Frieson. The defense could be an issue. Ian Campbell will be back but we lose Brandon Archer and Zach Diles.
The schedule will be interesting. The non conference schedule isn't all that daunting. Fresno State is down but it's still on the road and San Jose State is a bowl team but come on.....They're still San Jose State. Missouri State is a sure win. So lets say that we start 3-0 or at worse 2-1. We start the Big XII season at Texas which is tough but after what we pulled this year I'd say anything is possible. However, I will go ahead and mark that as a "L" just to be on the safe side. Then we have a stretch of 5 games (Kansas, Colorado, at Oklahoma State, Baylor and at Iowa State) that are all winnable on paper. Of course it was the wise philosopher Kenny Mayne who once said that "Games aren't played on paper.....They're played inside TV sets" so we still have to go play them. To finish out the season we have to go to Nebraska and Missouri comes to Manhattan. If we can take advantage of the homefield, otherwise known as homefield advantage, we could have a 7-8 win season in 2007.
