If Mizzou wins this weekend, we tie for second in the north but are placed third because Mizzou wins the tiebreaker.  Mizzou still likely gets placed in a worse bowl because of bad fan support and dwindling end to season.

If ku wins this weekend, we tie for second in the north but are placed third because Kansas wins the tiebreaker.  Kansas still only makes the Poinsettia Bowl or the like, but they are in fact guarunteed a bowl game.

No matter what we tie for second.
I personally hope Mizzou wins because I hate them less.  Also because if ku is stuck at 6 wins they have to compete with OSU and the deep pockets and influence of Boone Pickens for a bowl game.  OSU also beat ku in the regular season, and is the hotter team right now, despite having lost to Tech last week and a loss to OU looming.  The most likely scenario in this situation is we still get a better bowl than Mizzou, and ku gets left at home despite having 6 wins because all 7-5 teams must get considered before them for at-large bowl berths and OSU will have likely nabbed up the 8th remaining bowl spot.

Best case scenario, IMO.

If the entire ku team would come down with food poisoning and be forced to forfeit the game, I'd be just fine with that.

Best case scenario, an earthquake destroys the stadium and everything in it.

Do you remember the movie "The Day After?"

Prevailing winds over Columbia should carry fallout over $EC territory.

Unless I'm wrong about one of the following:

K-state is 4-4
ku is 3-4
Mizzou is 3-4

Both ku and Mizzou hold the tiebreaker over K-state, and one of them has to win.  K-state is guarunteed a tie for second in the north, although 3rd for standings purposes due to the tiebreaker behind the winner of the Squawk/Moo game.

Basically, the winner this weekend gets placed above K-state in the standings, and the loser gets placed below.  The best thing is the winner can do no better than K-state conference record wise.

Therefore if ku wins, they lock second in the north and are guarunteed a bowl game(most likely a conference bowl bid, but a possible at large if OSU also wins.)  If not, either ku or OSU will be chosen to take up the 8th conference bowl spot.  The team which is not chosen likely stays home(unless by some miracle there are not enough 7 win non BCS teams to steal up all the at large bids, which is highly highly unlikely.)

Why am I explaining all this to you?  Shouldn't you know this already?

There are no tiebreakers for second......Second in the north means nothing.

The only reason there are tiebreakers is to determine a CCG participant......bowls don't care, they'll select based on many factors.

For the factors bowls usually  base their selections upon: KSU >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than either MU or ku.

I'm rooting for Mizzou !

My wife and her family are Tigers and we share in our hate for kwho !

Of course that means the hayjawks will probably win...
I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !
