The Buffaloes are 1-8 with their only win coming vs. Texas Tech. They lost to I-AA Montana State and have lost close games to Colorado State, at Georgia, to Baylor and at Kansas.
QB Bernard Jackson is 12th in the Big XII in completion %, passing yards, yards/attempt and QB rating. He threw 2 of his 3 TD passes in the win vs. Texas Tech but has as many or more INT's then TD's in the other games.
RB Hugh Charles has 584 yards on 111 carries (5.3 yards/carry). He has been consistant in every game except for the loss at Oklahoma. His best game came vs. Texas Tech (119 yards) and he had another nice game vs. Arizona State (109 yards). His lone TD came vs. Baylor.
They do have a couple of nice receivers in TE Riar Geer and WR Alvin Barnett who average 11 and 8 yards/catch respectively. Otherwise, the Buffs have 6 other players who have double digits yards/catch.
On the offensive line C Mark Fenton is All-Big XII, the left side is veteran with LT Edwin Harrison and LG Brian Daniels but the right side is young with RG Daniel Sanders and RT Paul Backowski.
Defensively, the Buffs are lead by LB's Thaddaeus Washington and Jordon Dizon as well as S J.J. Billingsley. However, the defense has given up 20 points/game which is bad when you consider that the Buffs have only scored 20 points in two games this season.
It's not very often that I talk about kickers but Colorado has a good one in Mason Crosby. Crosby is 11-11 in XP's and 15-21 in FG's. He's 4-8 from 40 yards plus including a 56 yarder vs. Texas Tech. Last year vs. CU, the Cats lost on a Crosby 50 yard FG.
