Austin Meek blogs for those who sip the purple Kool-aidby Austin MeekMonday, Nov 9 at 5:39 pmThe Dunk EMAIL | PRINT | COMMENT | SHARE Print is a wonderful medium for storytelling, but occasionally you get one that doesn't really translate. That could be the case here, but it's worth a try. There's an urban legend going around Manhattan involving Jamar Samuels, Rodney McGruder and a ridiculous dunk. Our friend D. Scott Fritchen from gopowercat.com inquired about this dunk yesterday after K-State's exhbition win against Pitt State. The following exchange ensued between Samuels, Jake Pullen and Curtis Kelly.KELLY: Oh my. Ohhhh my.SAMUELS: That’s something that we all cannot speak on.PULLEN: That’s something that happened early on in practice that no man should witness. I’ve been around people that go up top — Bill and Mike —but that was one of the craziest things I’ve seen.KELLY: Rodney had to get a little learning experience out of that. We’ve all got it on our iPods, so if he ever has jokes, we can just go right to that.REPORTER: It was a one-handed tomahawk, wasn’t it?KELLY: It was a tommy. It was a hawk.PULLEN: It was like someone jumping halfway and trying to decide whether or not to really try to block it. He decided it was too late, and Jamar just kind of, like, stiff-armed him and he fell and we had to stop the drill.SAMUELS: Please don’t put this on YouTube, because Rodney’s my little brother, and I don’t want to crush his confidence.PULLEN: We didn’t bring it up, Rodney. Somebody heard about it outside of practice.KELLY: Man, it was ugly. I can try to be nice. Rodney, I love you. It was ugly, my boy. Be careful next time.
That is the cutest thing I have ever read. EV-ER.
