Not quite the meltdown I was hoping for...they were fairly complimentary...at the end of the thread it was starting to turn into a "KSU fans thinks this means they are better than us" thread, so it could get interesting.

Interesting to note that Walker's graduating class is 2006, so he can go pro after playing one semester at K-State.

The entire NBA universe will be very interested to see how he does without OJ Mayo on the court with him.

That still doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of people (see Mike Decourcy's article on him) that question his abilities w/o Mayo. It's never been seen.

If I'm a K-State fan, I don't like this. There's a good chance Walker will only play the second half of the season, and then he goes pro. Wouldn't it be better for him to wait until next year so that K-State has both Beasely and Walker? How much impact will Walker really have if he only plays second semester?

Athletes, without ball skills or a decent jumpshot, usually aren't jumping off draft boards. Especially when they're only 6'5". See Adams, Hassan.

K-State had years of practice getting guys like this eligible under Bill Snyder. He will play if the Clearinghouse doesn't snuff it out.

I'm happy for the Big 12 if this goes down--however I have a problem with something. How does the hiring of Huggins' lawyer (not to mention former Huggins player @ Cinci Jason Maxiell's agent) Richard Katz not equate to a violation?

There is no way in hell that it is a coincidence that Walker was able to hire Huggins' lawyer.

Seems like that's awfully close contact for a student nominally in high school. Second of all--how does a high school kid gather up enough money to pay a lawyer of that calibur? If the lawyer is taking a pay cut--it clearly indicates that he is doing so for reasons in the interest of Bob Huggins.

I'm calling foul here....

Walker is going to be a one year and done guy anyways. Once he finds out there is nothing in Manhattan to do he will go pro. Gongrats on having a good player for a year and maybe getting invited to the Not Invited Tourney.

Salty -- The bad news about that is they only had 1, if you can call Martin elite talent, last year. Will definitely put the pressure on so we have to play above scrimmage effort.

Its a great pick up for anyone, not just you guys.  I never understand the "I'm not sure I'd want him if I were a K-state fan" people.  How do you not want a top 5 player on campus, regardless of the amount he'll stay?  Gotta admit I haven't seen him play or seen video, so I don't know what he brings to the table.  We'll find out come conference season.  Either way, its light years ahead of where you were 7 months ago.  Congrats.
