A friend of mine who is an engineering student at KSU emailed me a few days ago and said that the head of his department told a group of around 40 engineering students that an announcement on Bill Walker would be made sometime this week.  Apparently, the word from on high is that he will be able to play immediately.

Remember, you heard it here on KSUFans.com first.   :hookem:

Great news. But I actually read that same thing on GPC 2 days ago about this engineering class head of department news.

According to a connected University official: Bill Walker has applied for admission and has been accepted by KSU.  As of today, Walker has not yet enrolled.  His clearinghouse status and related financial aid situation must be resolved prior to enrollment.  An NCAA Clearinghouse decision is expected this week by KSU officials.

Yes catfan, Dec 17th (or 18th?) looks right.  The engineering guy might have been a bit optimistic when he said Walker would be eligible for the 1st game.

I'm amazed at how easy it was to come by this information.  All it took was an email from a friend and a phone call to a buddy of mine who works at KSU.

Makes you wonder why anybody would pay $9.99/month to have the operators of a premium fan site simply go back and cut and paste the information provided by posters and call it some catchy name like a "BallBearing" or a "Wagon-Wheel".

I just find it interesting that anybody in engineering has the time to finish all the complicated equations and still get the scoop on basketball!

Fair enough.

Hey......the news could come from my garbage man and it wouldn't make a difference to me.........as long as it is GOOD Bill Walker news.

The Walker story broke right here on KSUFans.com.  Remember that tomorrow morning when you see it everywhere else.

It has been passed along to me through connected sources that Walker has now enrolled at KSU.  However, as of the end of the day on Tuesday, he was still waiting to be cleared by the Clearinghouse, and there has been no indication either way in terms of eligibility for the fall semester.  Walker will start attending class ASAP but will not be on scholarship until the Spring semester.  By starting classes now, it is reported that he will be eligible for the December 17th game.

most students commit to going to schools without real visits.  i think visits are overrated.  if a guy likes a coach and/or the history of a school enough what does a visit really matter?

BS.  I love the fact that he is coming (if he is).  But to say that most students commit to going to schools without real visits is a load of crap.  Name me more than one.  That still won't be most, but I can't think of a recruit that we have ever had that committed without coming on an official or unofficial visit, sans some greyshirt guys in f-ball.

i was referring to students, not student athletes.  but i dont think that visits are as important in terms of what the school is like as it is getting to spend time with the coach which in this case walker has already had plenty of.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Jacob Pullen committed before he visited, too.
