great comparo from the middle school coach.

Would like to see the "Schepis Scout" on all current EMAWs.   :peek:

Schepis is a good dude.  I played a ton of games that he officiated in, both baseball and football.

which one?  i played in a lot of games the dad officiated.  i played in less that one of his sons did.  either way, they are good peeps...

I'm the same age as Jamie, played football against him from like 4th grade through high school.  Josh was the one that officiated quite a few of our f-ball games, and I played at West Urban, where Josh was the head umpire for a time.

Yeah, a buddy of mine officiated quite a few b-ball games with Josh while he was in college.  I didn't play organized b-ball after like 12 years old, so if either of the Schepis' officiated me, it was before I was aware of who they were.

The only refs I remember by name from back when I played owned a flower shop on Topeka.  Or their family did anyway.  Kinda thought about getting into reffing some rec league games jsut for some exercise and to have a-holes yell at me.

Great thread by the way.  Love discussing refs.

In high school one of our regular refs went to church with me and about 5 other players on our team.
