"Remember February 19th is when we break the streak," Huggins announced to almost 10,000 fans who assembled in Bramlage Coliseum to watch the open scrimmage that kicked off practice. "Then we will have a rivalry."

 :dancin:

"Being a new coach, it's only right that he says that," said ku junior guard Russell Robinson. "He's telling fans what they want to hear.

"It doesn't mean it's going to happen. I've learned in college, you don't guarantee anything."

 :ku:

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I'm not worried about that game.  It's a crappy streak, but that game isn't more important than any other in conference.

That's the only comment I've seen from him that I wasn't big on. Doesn't seem like many coaches that come in and guarantee a win over their rival do very well.

i certainly wouldn't want to be at practice the next day if they don't win.

and you forgot to mention that self is no roy williams.

'course that goes without saying.

but in general, i've heard enough talk.  i want to see this chit on the court.

I won't be amazed, but his quote is irrelevant.

At this point, and with these players, being able to win against Kansas isn’t as important as being able to compete against Kansas.  If K-State plays their asses off and Kansas still wins Huggs won’t be mad.  If Kansas comes in and manhandles us, however, our boys will be back in the gym at midnight that night for a four hour practice.  Mark my words!

The Days of ku HANDLING KSU in basketball is OVER! They may win this year in Manhattan. But the days of total domination end this year! Mark my words!Things have changed in Manhattan!

If Jim Wooldridge can beat the squawks in Lawrence Bob Huggins can certainly beat them in Manhattan.  This comment should surprise absolutely no one as it's merely Huggins setting out to do precisely what he said he was going to do: not settle for second when first is available.

Tell that to Jim Tressel.
