in the first half it looked like nebraska's offense knew exactly what we would do on defense and had all the right plays called.  took forever to adjust to the cutback running.  the fake fg was really obvious and the bootleg was too easy as well.
nu was smart to hardly blitz in the first half and just let us run into a wall.  i wish we would have come out throwing early.  it was sad to watch the whole first half unfold, it definitely felt like an inexperienced staff against an experienced one.  i hope our staff learns a lot from this game.
nebraska had a solid gameplan, executed perfectly, got their lead and then sat on the ball the whole 2nd half.  callahan is using the nfl model pretty well.  all they need is a randel-el type player and they'd be pretty awesome.  i was impressed by the big red to say the least, not flashy but a solid 9 win team.  there is no way they don't win the north.

now on to mizzou where we have a better shot of outcoaching someone.

I wouldn't count on outcoaching MU just yet. We sell out the block and got schooled by a couple of walk-ons!!! and that was to start the game.

Oh well. We're young. We have a few wins yet to achieve this year. I just hope our seniors step up and get the team focused on MU. We need that game as a win and a win against MU is a nice lead into ISU, CU and ku.

As an aside, anyone watch/know what happened with CU and TTech? That score surprised me.

I still count Archer, Mack and Echols to pump up the D. Maybe wrong on that. As for the O you got me there except maybe Figurs and Moreira.

Maybe I should say hope our captains step up.

Weiser hit a home run with the Huggins hire.  However the football hire has been less then impressive.

Why didn't he at least go for a guy that had HC experience?  Forget about the Veneables idea, too.

There was none.

You have to hire an asst in football.

Stoops former FL. D-coord.

OUR PROBLEM IS THAT TURD OF AN OLINE. :yuck:

Watch them instead of the football.  Thats where the game will be won and lost.

Not that I disagree with you about being outcoached but something to remember here is that players still have to handle their assignments.  Many times on the cutbacks I watched the weakside linebacker and D-tackle following the progression of the play instead of staying home in containment.  The coaches are to blame but so are the players.
