are they really hot? Like, at all?

every time a fast food restaurant lists something on their menu as spicy I just wanna laugh.

Example: Wendy's Spicy Chicken sandwich.

Really Wendy's? Spicy? Why, because it has black pepper on it? GTFOOMS

Second example: Taco Bell's Fire Sauce

Not really that much hotter than the Hot.

Chipotle's red salsa has a good zing to it but I usually ask for extra.

So is Taco Bell franking around or what?

Edit: Will probably try sampling these tommorrow for my own assessment.

The volcano taco was pretty good and I assume this is the same ingredients just on chips and not in a tortilla (if so, win).  The taco wasn't super hot but was pretty good.

The volcano taco was definitely more spicy than other fast food "spicy". Probably tasty, will also try for my own assessment soon.

My friend, you need to try this then, if you are so cocky and arrogant about what's hot and what's not.  :ku:

    It's time to hit it.
Rumor is Taco Bell had to contract work from Nasa to design a plate that could hold up to the hotness that is the Volcano Nachos. They tried serving the nachos on a plate made from Shuttle tiles, but they nachos kept burning through the plates.

Those Asian Zing chicken deals at Wendy's that came out a couple months ago are frickin' hot if you get hold of the right one.  I was shocked.  Maybe I just got a hot batch but I was in some pain.  Very nice.

I am a fan of the "volcano" series at taco bell.  Sometimes I'll get the taco and burrito and neither are hot, and sometimes it's really really hot.  Definitely depends on the amount of volcano sauce that they put in there.  Haven't had the pleasure of eating the volcano nachos, but I will be trying them soon.  Also, they should put volcano sauce in a crunchwrap.  That would be &@#%ing elite.

Curious if you can just order a side of the volcano sauce.  I'm guessing it is a 2/1 ratio mix of chalula and sour cream.

You can get a side order.  My buddy gets it because he gets like their 89 cent burritos and puts the sauce on them.

    ANGRY AS F*CK
much love for volcano sauce

I've had the nachos twice...the first time they were ass-puckering hot, and today for lunch they were just kinda "meh" in hotness.  flavor is always excellent, though.

Got something called a "volcano box" Sunday because it sounded spicy.  Hadn't been to the Bell in some time, so figured I'd try the "hip" thing.  :gocho:

Was very unspicy.  Not like a volcano at all.  Disappointing.  :-[

Ripped a new hole in my digestive track though, as any good Bell should.  :flush:

I think the potato burrito is the better way to go.  :lick:

    I'm with Coco.
Just throw rooster sauce on it and call it good.
