Sure Callahan is an idiot...of course so is Mack Brown.  The bottom line is they are both at name programs and have lots of money in the program...particularly Brown.  They can both recruit because they both are "used car salesman" type coaches.  Typically, those coaches do about Mack Brown did for several years and do fairly well but always underachieve.  Eventually, their house of cards falls apart and they have a 4-7 and the alumni finally get rid of them because they are tired of the underachieving.  Of course, Mack Brown lucked into recruiting such a stud at QB that he couldn't help but win.  We should see Mack fall back into his usual ways of being very good (they do have all the recruiting advantages you can have, and a ton of money), but not good enough to get to the very top.  He'll likely be out-coached by Stoops and company again this year.  Now, whether Callahan can be out-coached by Prince and company...who knows?!

no question he's an idiot.  he took a 9 win team to the first losing season in over 30 years and broke their bowl streak because he refused to use any of his returning players in roles they were meant for.  disaster.

I had to laugh at this.  what do you mean he took wr's and made them lineman or took a db and made him a fullback?

Cally got lucky with the Keller kid but let's see how it works out.  The guy has talent but there is probably a reason his former teamates nearly revolted when he was named the starter for Arizona State.  The Hilldebrand kid isn't that good he couldn't hack it at Oregon or Oregon State or wherever he went out of school.  Every year the elite 11 picks one kid that is a sleeper type and doesn't have the credentials of the other qb's.  It's always a west coast kid that has a connection to one of the guys that runs the camp.  Hildebrand was their choice his year but he wasn't one of the top quaterback prospects in the nation like the other kids that attend the camp look at his offers if you don't believe me.  Basically he got in because he knew someone my guess is he was one of the guys private students and had spent a lot of money with him over the years.

Let's see Cally recruit and develop a good high school QB before you start talking smack about his ability with QB's.  He's yet to do that and currently doesn't have a decent high school prospect on campus.  Maybe this Witt kid will work out for next year but I've heard he has some character issues just like Beck did.
