PITT "NO CHANCE" with BEASLEYReports in Pittsburgh this week linking Pitt and the #1 ranked high school basketball player in the country, Michael Beasley are untrue and inaccurate.BlackandGoldInsider.com spoke this afternoon with Beasley's coach at Notre Dame Prep, Bill Barton, who set the record straight, "There is absolutely no truth to the rumors and Michael still plans on and will commit to Kansas State."Barton told BlackandGoldInsider.com that there's a reason he's sure Beasley will honor his commitment to Bob Huggins and Kansas State, "I have a policy here that when an athlete has already committed to a school prior to coming to Notre Dame Prep, that student will honor the commitment." In fact, Barton is not allowing any college coaches permission to visit Beasley.Pitt is being linked to Beasley because David Cox, Pitt's new director of basketball operations, was Beasley's AAU coach with the DC Assault. When asked about Pitt, Barton told me, "I know Jamie Dixon and know that he does not allow his staff to recruit players who've already given a verbal commitment."Barton does have some history with the Pitt program. He was Carl Krauser's coach at Notre Dame Prep prior to him attending Pitt. In fact, he told us, "Carl came here already committed to Pitt and I wouldn't allow him to be recruited by any schools either."So, if you read any reports that say Pitt has a chance to land Michael Beasley, don't believe them, they're not true.
