The Buffaloes are 8-9 (0-3) with losses to Montana State, at Stanford, to tcu, to Buffalo on a neutral court, at Vermont, at SMU, at Missouri, to ku and at Texas Tech. The Buffaloes return 2 starters off of a team that went 12-20 (3-13) in 2007-08.
The Buffaloes are lead by G's Cory Higgins and Dwight Thorne II. Higgins averages 18 points/game (leads the team), 6 rebounds/game (leads the team) and 3 assists/game. He's a typical Jeff Bzdelik guard in the fact that he doesn't doesn't take bad shots and plays good defense. Thorne II averages 12 points/game, 3 rebounds/game and 2 assists/game. G Nate Tomlinson leads the team in assists with 3 assists/game. Tomlinson is a pass first PG, who will occasionally drain a 3, and was a member of Australia's Under 19 team in 2007.
The bottom line is this.....Colorado is a BAD basketball team who is probably a couple of years away from being successful. With that being said you should think about the job that Dick Bennett did at Washington State when you think about what Coach Buzz is trying to do at CU. It wasn't until Dick's son Tony took over at Washington State that the results (24 wins and 23 wins) began to show. Soon Colorado won't be fun to play but as of right now there is NO excuse for the Cats not to win this game.....BIG!
