Why can't he just remain nasty and ignorant?

Yeah.  Not necessarily a good sign.  Reminicent of the "Wooly is going to have a breakthrough year" column back in the day.

I don't know.  There's still plenty there to get the true K-Statriot fired up.

Quote
Bob Huggins, Michael Beasley and Bill Walker, the men responsible for Martin landing the K-State coaching job, are gone now, off to bigger and better jobs.

He's still a below average writer. This is a typical Whitless hatchet job sandwiched between some nice words.

The guys next to me at the game were fired up about asking Fitz how he could sit next to Whitlock.

Really how can he?  There literally cannot be much room at that press table.

The difference is that Wooly was about to have a "breakthrough year" when he had much older and more experienced teams.  Don't forget that most of the production on this squad is coming from 1st or 2nd year players.  Frank & Co. are out ahead of the recruiting curve and have put a very decent and very young team on the floor, on that will get better over the next couple of years.  That's something Wooly never did.

    Not A Basketball Player
While I read that I was thinking, "This author has to be the biggest pussy who has ever written about sports." Then when I got to the bottom I lolled that it was Whitlock.
