K-State picked up two oral commitments in football — including its first one for 2008.

That’s junior Brayden Burris of Wichita Bishop Carroll, a 6-foot-7, 235 offensive tackle. His coach Alan Schuckman said by phone, “he’s tall, rangy and he can run.” The other pickup, No. 21 for the 2007 class, is Wichita Kapaun-Mount Carmel quarterback Tysyn Hartman (6-3, 191). Hartman, the No. 10 prospect in Kansas according to Rivals.com, also got offers from Kansas and Tulsa. “They want me to come in and compete for the starting job,” Hartman said. “To compete with Josh Freeman only will make me better.”
