Okay, we can take his money, but he doesn't get a vote at the big boy table.

On the bright side I can't quite imagine KSU doing anything that stupid.  At least Ron was from a BCS school and had sort of associated with some kind of legitimate football folks.

Actually that's precisely what my source said, "It would just be more of the same."   :flush:

I don't really know the Pitt St coach but it may make it more Wooly like.   He has to be much less of a pompus ass than Prince so I'm guess we'd like him better.  Not that we would actually win more games and not want to fire him too, we'd just feel worse about wanting to fire him since he was such a nice guy.

If we can't get Patterson:
I could see the former PSU coach Dennis "All Acce$$" Franchione being tabbed to clean up the Ronald mess. Fran, might bring along Chuck Broyles (current PSU HC) as an assistant. Coach Snyder had Larry Kramer (Former Emporia State coach) on the staff in the mid 90's.

Though not the best choice IMHO Fran at the top of the ticket with Broyles as an assistant wouldn't be worrisome.  But then that wasn't the rumor, the donor wants Broyles at the top and sees no reason KSU shouldn't just import the PSU staff wholesale.

Recall that this is a stupid donor trick, not something that's under serious consideration.  But when the crap hits the fan who knows which stupid donor trick will pop up and turn into a reality.

Fran would take the job if offered.  First hand knowledge...he wants it.

Don't know if he's any better than Ronald though to be honest.  Well, he HAS to be a little better I guess.

Franchione hasn't been successful since... I can't even remember.
Don't look now, but Virginia is coming on (in a weak conference, but, UVA will probably go bowling). K-State should take notice - it took three years to get things turned around there...

Al Groh (for a while with the help of an astute, shaved, goateed youngster named Ronald Prince) has been churning out barely bowl eligible teams in the crappy ACC for 8 or 9 seasons.

Three years after they got rid of Prince. It takes a while to recover from that kind of thing.

So!  Fran would take the Idaho job, he is damaged goods and not like the Huggins brand of damaged goods.  He is sleaze mixed with suck, a bad combo.

They dipped the year after he left, but they were 9-3 the 2nd year.  Last time I checked, 2<3.
