Can the KSU defense break the Big XII record for most points given up in a single season?  I say we pin this list and keep this updated.  With Tibs firing on all cylinders, I think they can get it done.

Here's the list of the worst (statistically) defenses in Big XII history:

1. ku ('02)     507 pts against
2. ISU ('97)    493
3. A&M ('03)   465
4. NU ('07)     455
5. BAY ('03)    455
6. BAY ('02)    449
7. BAY ('07)    444
8. TT ('02)      439
9. ISU ('03)     437
10. BAY ('99)   414

Through 5 games this year, KSU has given up 149 points.  To set the record, the defense will need to give up an average of 51.3 points in the final 7 games.

    Since 1996
Kansas State 2008 football drinking game:

For every game the defense gives up 30 points, take a drink.
For every game the defense gives up 50 points, take 3 drinks.
For every game the opponent rushes for more than 300 yards take a drink.
For every game the opponent has two rushers over 100 yards take 3 drinks.
For every game KSU forces a turnover, take a drink.
For every game KSU turns it over and the opponent scores a TD one play later, take 3 drinks.
For every game Ron Prince calls a fake punt, fake field goal, fake pass, fake run, fake interception, fake timeout or fake fake, take a drink.
For every game you look at Ron Prince on the sideline and you can literally see the neckbrace before your eyes, FINISH THE BOTTLE.

Go forth and be drunkful.

KSUfans.com will become the #1 Kstate sports BBS!
i doubt we break the record but we come close this is just disgusting and snyder who isn't even dead yet has to be turning over in his grave
"I don't know if I will be able to knock out as many teeth as big Lu, but I hope to pick up on the scoring and rebounding aspects." Wally Judge talking about being a biig of the future for KSU!

I think that it's honestly doable after the ULaLa game.

Consider:
TTech 50+ (total mindfreak for Tibs/KSU not as fast as RP tells everyone)
OU 60+ (think 450 yards rushing...)
Mizzou 60+ (Maclin could score 5 times by halftime)
ku 45+ (at ku, Reesing to be lubed up for this one...)
NU 40+ (they did put up 70 last year)
CU 40+ (Hawkins/Boulder/defense get gassed at sealevel in less than 2 quarters - at altitude...ouch)
ISU & aTm - may be the saving grace, but aTm has Goodson/Lane and ISU, well KSU will have quit by then.

Freemaw!!

Every man on that defense will have completely given up by the NU game, let alone the ISU game.  Plus, everyone on that team will know that not one of their coaches will be back next year (That means you too Mo &@#%ing Latimore).

I am actually looking forward to going the NU and ISU games just so I can experience what it was like pre-Snyder.  That way, when the old pricks on GPC start spouting off, I can be all like "Doodz, I know exactly what you mean."

The 507 number is overall?  correct?  What's the worse conference defense?  Still '02 ku?  We have a better shot at that.

I looked it up....the record we have a really good shot at breaking is conference scoring defense, which is also ku '02, it's 380 points.  I think this is extremely attainable.

Give us a break down of estimated points per game on our remaining schedule, with commentary.  Accounting is boring, this is more fun.  Do this immediately.

OK, since we have the worst defense in the Big 12, I just applied the points that each of our opponents had in week one to our future games with them...based on the assumption that we can do no better against them, and almost certainly will do worse.

Team:   Points:
Tech         58
aTm          28
CU            14
OU            49
ku            35
MU            52
NU            17
ISU           33
Total        286

We have 94 points to make up.

aTm:  I think we squeeze a couple more out of them.  They'll move the ball at will on us on the ground, but probably won't result in a very gawdy point total.  I'll put them down for 3 more.

CU:  Definitely more points to be had here.  I'll put them down for 21 more, which is being conservative, IMO.

OU:  Christ, this will be ugly.  I look forward to seeing you all there at our &@#%ing homecoming.  I'll put them down for 10 more.

ku:  ku can score.  They can't defend, but they can score.  I'll put them down for 3 more.  The Governor will be there and the will keep us "in it."

MU:  Probably hold true.  I'll put them down for 3 more.

NU:  They will definitely score more on us than the did on Mizzou.  I'll put them down for 14 more.

ISU:  Last game of the year, and the FP's might make a game of it.  I won't increase this score.

Result:  With the adjusted projections we land at 340.

The only way we avoid this is if Prince just gives Lamark the ball 90% of the time.  Forget Josh's stats, we need him next year with whatever coach comes in, and just eat up the clock in these last 7 games.

if the other big12 coaches are smart they'll call off the dogs in the second half.

they know ron is on the hotseat.  Hell maybe chizik and sherman will take one for the league.

Excellent point.  Just let us score for a while and hang around into the 2nd half.  Any Big 12 team with a decent offense has to know they can pretty much score anytime they want.

excellent point.  it's like when husker fans were nervous that after they handed us an ass kicking that it might be enough that Slash keep his job.

we can only hope that at some point Ian goes Watts on the coaching staff.

on a sidenote, what I'm most looking forward to Prince being fired is all the secret stories about him coming out.

    It's time to hit it.
ooooh secret stories.  How about this one.

Ron tried to/succesfully fracked Tib's wife, and this is Tib's payback to Ron.  Tibs knew he wouldn't be here next year (what DC makes it two years here?) so this is the retribution fracking.

Can the KSU defense break the Big XII record for most points given up in a single season?  I say we pin this list and keep this updated.  With Tibs firing on all cylinders, I think they can get it done.

Here's the list of the worst (statistically) defenses in Big XII history:

1. ku ('02)     507 pts against
2. ISU ('97)    493
3. A&M ('03)   465
4. NU ('07)     455
5. BAY ('03)    455
6. BAY ('02)    449
7. BAY ('07)    444
8. TT ('02)      439
9. ISU ('03)     437
10. BAY ('99)   414

Through 5 games this year, KSU has given up 149 points.  To set the record, the defense will need to give up an average of 51.3 points in the final 7 games.

Tech - 58
aTm - 30
CU - 14
OU - 58

Averaging 40 points per game right now, with a total of 160.

We need to average 87 points a game, giving up 347, to get the record.  I don't think we can do it.  :frown:

But, I think we have a real shot at being the worst this year.  We trail aTm by less than 30.
