Should we be excited as heck about the RB position because a walk-on juco running back put up 100+ yards in the spring game?

or

Should we be scared as the bejezzus about our run defense because a walk-on juco running back put up 100+ yards in the spring game?

I think both would apply.

Yes

A) Our RB position is the biggest disastor of any position I can remember at KSU (like, 10 years is all I can remember)
B) Our defense has consistently sucked for a while

Not everybody was there for the spring game, including Calvin. Had they been there they could have made a difference.

I think it shows the oline has improved in small steps. Add Weibert and we've got something to work with.

Oline = Good according to most experts = no worries.

Ask LJ what an Oline does.  :beerchug:

We could of had a better look at what our offense/defense are going to be like if all the juco's were there and we ran the spring game like most other teams do. Most put the 1st team offense up against the 2nd team defense, and the 2nd team offense up against the 1st string defense. I don't take anything from the spring game except valentine's running. He is very shifty with a quick burst and hits the whole. I like guy's like him who have always had to prove themself and are hungry. Im rooting for valentine.

    The "other" KSU
Let me be the first to say, a big FCK YOU to Leon "Im the only shot KSU has at a running game and I cant stay out of trouble" Patton for screwing us and not giving the courtesy of a GODDAMNED reach around! If it wasn't for that jackass's BS, we wouldn't be having this thread.

OK, Im feeling better now.

Do you not remember the year we tried to play Mo Thurmond and Mo Simmons at OLB. WOW! That was horrible. How about the WR's before last year. We had no one who was proven and completely healthy. Then Jordy and Deon came to play. Also remember 2006, and how we had NO good DE's. Then Ian Campbell comes out of nowhere and Rob Jackson shows up. Or remember the year that Aaron Lockett was our ONLY reciever. We have had some thin positions. We will see how Prince works around them. Bill was a genius at it. Minus Mo Simmons and Mo Thurmond playing OLB.

SD makes a good point.  If you're using the spring game to say "Oh we have a really good walkon running back!" then we're screwed.  His production was much more about our horrible defense than it was his awesome ability.

Our RB situation is extremely horrible atm.
