It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Atleast you were really good at being really bad. Hell, Kansas State was the first NCAA team to lose 500 games. They will never be able to take that from you!

No,  I just tend to notice threads on my home board on the Interwebs.

Say, go mention K-State on kusportstards.com and then see what you get.

Damn . . . .

the only problem i have with the whole ronnie chalmers situation is that numerous squawks have come over here in the past and vehemently defended the fact that chalmers was a valuable member of the staff who contributed in significant ways.  and now that his son is gone, they are all like "dump his ass, he was a idiot, bring in the next dude with a high-profile recruit!".  just admit that it was all a sham, a ploy to get one kid, and nothing more.  that's all you gotta do.

I'm a ku fan obviously.  I'll admit, I don't pay too much attention to the assistant coaches.  I don't know what Ronnie did or did not do for the team.  I DO KNOW THAT THE RESULT WAS A CHAMPIONSHIP.  AND SORRY, IT WASN'T AGAINST ANY RULES.  From my point of view, it is Bill Self's job to pay attention to the assistants and make sure they are doing the job that needs to be done as far as recruiting.  Since we have been to the dance for 18 +/- straight years, the final four 5 of those years and won the national championship this year, I am more than happy as a fan.  Sure, Bill Self took a risk hiring Ronnie Chalmers, seeing that he was just a High school coach.  The administration is only going to allow so many assistants on the bench and as far as I am concerned, Ronnie worked out.  My analogy would be to treat him like a sub you put in a game with the instruction, "don't hurt us".  The sub's job isn't to score points or dish out assists but to give the regular guy a chance to rest without doing any damage in the game.  From my perspective, Ronnie didn't do too much damage.  The next "sub" may be different if there is one, but for now I'm happy.  Are you?

Reasonable enough, phogdog, but what is inaccurate is to say that us hiring Hill is the same as you hiring Ronnie.

It is quite obvious that you hiring Hill isn't the same as us hiring Ronnie.  That epiphany came to me about 4 months ago.

LOL touche, you can't compare the two you retard.  all things being equal, which obviously they weren't, hill is a much better hire.  ku can't even play dirty well.

I guess we will have to wait and see how things unfold.  If the NCAA doesn't have any rules against a player's father being a "towel boy" and Henry's dad makes that a condition of Xavier coming to ku, they will have to make that decision.  It worked once, it just might work again.  As far as this being dirty, I'm not going to argue with K-State fans about that.  You're going to inherently believe that every move ku makes is dirty.

You're aware of the fact that you guys are the only team to be barred from defending their national championship aren't you?  And that you won this year's while on probation, and with a guy who shouldn't have even been eligible?  And that you're still on probation?

If the shoe fits....

Please tell me more about this player that "shouldn't have been eligible"? Im sure this is something that the NCAA would love to know about.

Actually the NCAA doesn't care, it's only people who play by the rules that pay attention to things like DA not being able to count to 10.  Now, excuse me, my elevator just arrived and I need to go relieve some tension after finishing my breakfast Chalupa.

Do you think the slew of candidates who applied for the job and were more qualified than Ronnie think this is "dirty".  Believe me, if this was the only thing shady (no pun intended) thing ku has done to get ahead, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
