cod5 will suck.  Gotta wait for CoD6.

COD: World at War (not actually called COD5) has Kiefer Sutherland as a lead voice actor, therefore it cannot suck.

It will suck because Treyarch is developing it and not Infinity Ward. 

they are using the cod4 game engine so i'm holding out a little hope.  treyarch did merge with grey matter a couple years ago, they're the dudes that developed rtcw's single player.

Which, let's be honest, was just average.  The multiplayer was phenomenal for RTCW.

i thought rtcw's sp was fun, but yeah the mp was incredible- i spent way too long playing that, did you play it a lot saul.  i don't understand why nerve wasn't involved this go around instead of raven.

Favorite things to do:

mass amounts of team-killing before they released the first MP patch, no voting, no auto-kicks.
Dropping a 'nade next to a dead teammate, then reviving them and watch them FLY
Same as above, but use an air strike 4 seconds before spawn, on a spawn point. Works great on "assault" map as axis.
Endless grenade exploit with lieutenant (was patched)

What? Because they made COD3 they suck as an entire studio.  Well Treyarch only had 8 months to put together COD3, on the other hand Treyarch has been working on COD5 for nearly 2 years.  If they bomb this I'll agree that Treyarch probably shouldn't make anymore COD games, but I think they could really blow everyone away.
