IMO

1. 2004 - Connecticut
2. 2005 - North Carolina
3. 2007 - Florida
4. 2001 - Duke
5. 2000 - Michigan State
6. 2008 - Kansas
7. 2006 - Florida
8. 2002 - Maryland
9. 1999 - Connecticut
10. 2003 - Syracuse

why?

2004 was the most loaded team along w/ UNC '05 in terms of starting talent and quality depth.  The UConn frontcourt of Okafor, Boone, and Villanueva was absolutely frightening...Gordon and Anderson were killers from the wings.  That team was scary and when they wanted to turn it on it always got ugly.  UNC had an amazing top 6 players and unstoppable offensive arsenal...not a great defensive team symbolic of Roy's teams but didn't need to be w/ the offensive production.  Florida's versatility and team chemistry is unmatched by any of these teams save Michigan State and Maryland's NC teams.  That Florida had bigs like Noah, Horford, and Brewer who could handle the ball the way they did set them apart.  Duke '01 is behind the top 3 simply because they lacked the dominant inside presence...but Jay Williams was as good as we've seen from the point, Dunleavy was a 6-9 sharp shooter, and Battier was just an all around blue collar player.  Michigan State was the toughest mentally of these teams...down the list due to lack of the top end talent but their team chemistry, experience, and toughness was their trademark.  No need to summarize the rest though I will say that Syracuse, while good, sort of peaked at the right time and really was not thought of as a contender going into the tourney.

I put ku #1.  They faced the Michael Beasley/Bill Walker led KSU team to came out to a hard fought draw at one game apiece.  Pretty impressive imo.

I don't recall Duke '01 being that big of a pre-tourney favorite...the Duke '99 team was definitely the HUGE fave to win it all but don't recall that about '01 Duke.

Duke '99 may be most talented team we have seen...always will wonder how good that team might have been had some of those players stuck around a year or two longer.  Brand, Avery, Maggette, Battier, etc, etc.

Add 05 North Car. team on that list, 7 guys on that team are in the NBA right now.
That was the overall most talented team on that list...from top to bottom.

'01 Duke had Battier, Boozer, Dunleavy and Williams. Was ranked #1 in the final AP poll going into the tournament and had a 35-4 record.

So while maybe not as awe-inspiring as '99, they were pretty darn good themselves.

take off your purple colored glasses.  the finar four this year was a combined 142-9.  all 1 seeds,  record winner memphis(38 games).  3 straight final 4 team in ucla.  unc spoke for themselves.  ku won the strongest final four field.  that puts them tied with the 05 unc team and slightly behind 04 uconn.

The competition of the Final 4 has absolutely no bearing on how good a particular champion was...ludicrous statement.

Do you really think this Kansas team was as good as May, M. Williams, J. Williams, McCants, and Felton?  All of those parts are head & shoulders better than the parts UNC threw on the floor against Kansas last month.
