    Hey, basketball!!!
recruiting wise for next year. Seriously?? We know atleast one of the duo in Beas/Walker is leaving.

We really missed out on Kadji & Little. They would've been huge commitments.

I have four on my list to keep an eye on:

SG Chris Babb out of Arlington, TX
PF Dominique Keller out of a JUCO in TX. We kind of screwed Dominique over here. We were his leader until we revoked his scholie about four months ago. (We thought we would have atleast Kadji/Little over Keller)
C Abdul Herrera out of Hutch JUCO. Didn't make it into Cincinatti when drunk a-hole/Martin were there. One of the reasons he is at a kansas JUCO. Heard he is a Colon type. :yuck:

This isn't the type of talent we need to add on to next year's team. Anyone else I should know about??

I think we need to hope for some of these guys:

Witherspoon  :hope:
Babb
Kilpatrick
Bowman

I think we will have 3 schollies: Stewert, Young, and Beasley.

If Hoskins get's a med redshirt and beasley leaves we will have 2 because Samuels will be taking a scholly for 2008.

Witherspoon is not going to happen- we should just face facts there considering he hasn't mentioned us in months.

Kilpatrick would be a huge pull, but for some reason, he has a fascination with St. Johns being from that area. Likely he won't end up here either.

Babb seems to be looking in other directions too. He's taking officials elsewhere and I haven't heard much of us in TX lately (seems like ever since Keller went haywire, everything fell through down there...weird)

Bowman is definitely a possibility though along with Montrell McDonald I think, so long as they qualify. Also, it seems like everybody's reporting that the minute we offer Herrera, he's a Wildcat. So only time will tell there.

*** On a 2009 note, for anybody who stayed long enough after the game last night to watch Frank finish the radio wrap and head to the locker room, you would've noticed him talking to a kid along with Brad Underwood. That would be stud Hayden guard Jeff Reid!!!

I was thinking about putting Wesley on my list. After the ku game it looked promising with J-Mart's update about W.W. on his blog. Not so much anymore...

Everything you've said but the most erroneous thing was that we were never in it for Witherspoon. We were his leader just before the season started. We might not have the best shot now but he was definitely feeling us before some other big schools jumped in. Is that terrible YouTube production something that you're responsible for? If so....LOL!

Well believe what you must, but he never once called us a possible leader. It was always, "Well, I'm wide open...". Many times he was quoted and completely left us off his list. The only times he really talked at length about KSU was when the boys at GoPowercat contacted him or some other KSU related publication where he, or more often his dad, basically had to talk about K-State (just tugging on our leash for sh1ts and giggles). From about August or September on it's been a lot of big schools involved, with us trying to keep up.

I love the kid, he's one hell of a player. But looking back on it now, I wish we would've moved on to other players sooner, rather than trying and trying to get him here. You'd say, "Well we have to be persistent. That's what recruiting is and plus, we're not good enough to just snag someone on the first try and if they don't bite, move on." But when you see all these other schools jumping in and you start to notice you're falling off the radar, move on and really push Kilpatrick or Babb or SOMEBODY. I'm not Dalonte though, so maybe there's still a shot or we wouldn't be involved.

Nonetheless, here we stand in February/March and we still don't have a combo guard, so I hope something works out.

Ryan you do a great job with PPH, however, you may have missed the update from J-Mart after the ku game.  Witherspoon and his dad watched the whole game and when we won Wesley said "I'm going to K-State" but his dad told him to hold off a little longer.  We are definetly in the running, you may have just missed this update, and he also told his dad he's definetly taking a visit to us

Catphan-
I appreciate the support (we're always in need of it!). I do remember the article, but I just didn't get the feeling that he was serious in it. That and the fact that I haven't heard much since then from the Witherspoon crew. However, if the visit rumor is true, I take back much of what I said....right back in the running. Thanks for the info.  :skillz:

so basically you need an ksu perspectived witherspoon article every 2-3 weeks or you'll assume he's eliminated ksu in the interim?  kind of a weird philosophy.

fwiw, he's consistently said he's wide open from the summer on.  nothing has changed.  and given his consistency in that regard, it's a really good bet that nothing will change till april.

What's the opposite of believe?  Because that's what I feel when I hear BCG isn't recruiting someone to Kentucky.

not "related" but i received an email saying uk no longer calling WW and he is wide open.  ksu wasn't mentioned in a list of schools that included memphis,ut,cu,ou among others
When I was a kid growing up in the projects, I used to dream of going into space, of escaping the slums, of killing an Ewok!
