I am as dissappointed as anyone that we lost.   But, hey you got to love how these young kids did not give up and busted their butts to get back into the game.

We lost this game because we did not defend the first 2/3 of this game.  No excuses, we just did not defend.  Voskul was feeling it and we were a step behind him on the defensive end

Down 60-38 and then to show a lot of grit getting the lead down to 4 pts (28-10 run in 8:30 minutes).

Road games are tough.  Just like i said after ku got beat by UT.  Hey Texas' backcourt only went 6 for 26 and ku still could not beat UT.

We had a hard time with Tech's motion offense, they hit some shots, got some energy from the crowd and that is what can happen when you play on the road.

Like i said, its a loss. It stinks.  But we were on the verge of getting blown out and showed some character for a young team in a tough place to win.

Never quit?  Did you first turn on the TV in the 2nd half?

We were down 60-38.  Tech was shooting 57-58% from the field.  It would have been easy to start playing desperate in a bad way and lose by 25.

We started putting full court pressure on them and did not force up dumb idiotic shots on offense.   We cut the gap down to 4 with 5 minutes to go.  Even then i did not think we were gonna win becuase it took so much out of us to get back into the game

Yes, we never should have let Tech score 60 in 26 minutes.  However, there will be a time before the season is over where we will probably find ourselves down 10-12 pts in the 2nd half.   At least the players have seen that a good size lead in the 2nd half away from home is not insurmountable.

I give them all the credit in the world for fighting back.  This team seems to be the "tale of two halves" type team, where we are awesome for one half and then the next we absolutely lay down.  I think (though some may think differently) that this team is still really young and that plays a lot into the meltdowns and frustrations on the court.  Martin is a good coach.  He wants these guys to succeed and he'll put them in the best position to do that.  They have to go out and match intensity early or set the pace themselves.

On a side note, Tech had WAY too many moving screens that weren't called last night.  If I were the Cats, I'd be frustrated too!
