Since the inception of the Big 12,, the only new coaches to have a worse record their second year (worse being defined as less wins):

Gary Barnett ('99: 7-5, '00: 3-8)
Terry Allen ('97: 5-6, '98: 4-7)

Ron needs to win 2 of the next 3 to not fall into that category.

Now, this stat doesn't mean that much considering guys like John Blake went 3-8, then 4-8 or Slash went 5-6 then 8-4 or Kevin Steele went 1-10 then 2-9...but I thought I'd pile on.

I know.  The other one wasn't.  Coincidentally, it appears that GB and RP have the same scheduling philosphies.  But still, I found it funny.

No. He started it in August. Trying to anger the tards saying that Prince was as average as Calahan and Fran because he would only increase his win total between year one and two by a couple of wins at best.

I'm glad you people appreciate the fact Prince didn't drag you through a first year, that Mangino/Hawkins/Chizik/Callahan/Gundy/Pinkel all forced their fans to go through.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Who gives a sh*t if the first year was good and the rest suck?  We don't appear to be building as a team/program; we seem to be throwing sh*t against the wall and hoping it sticks.  The offense is the only side of the ball that has any hope next year.

holy frack dude. Last year, you tore down the team because outside of wins...our stats suck.

This year, you tear down the team because outside of stats..our win total isn't where it should be.

what is the measuring stick tard?

That's bs. Our offense is miles ahead of where it was last year. We could use a better running game and could score more touchdowns in the redzone but the guy that you love to hate, Josh Freeman, is miles ahead of where he was last year and so is our offense's production. Because yesterday, we were the top scoring offense in conference.

The defense hasn't improved which sucks but you could attribute that to a new scheme or just lack of talent. Obviously, we're disappointed with the defense. I'm definitely not convinced that Tibesar and the 3-4 are the way to go.

This team could very easily match or exceed last year's win total.  (6-6 gets us a bowl, IMO).

It's wins and losses.  Last year I was pissed for the same reasons I'm pissed this year.  I was happy with 7 wins, but not happy about the end of the season (and not because it was ku but it was how we played).  If we get to 7 wins this year, I'll be happy, but this year we seem to have regressed, or rather are still inconsistent.  And I'm not too excited about next year given our current roster and current recruiting.

No, you were the leader of "we didn't lose a game by less than 14 points!" campaign last year. Or the "7 points from 4-8!" camp. Horsesh1t.

You're just a fan with a GIANT inferiority complex. That's all.

Your point was that we aren't improving. I said that our offense has improved and that our defense has stayed the same. Hard to grasp, I guess.

I think you're confusing me with someone else.  Go make a youtube and calm down.  What f*cking inferiority complex do I have, exactly?  If you say ku, you can pretty much go f*ck yourself because I've been someone who's said that we shouldn't measure ourselves against them and that the other tard's obsession with ku was going to be our downfall.

this team is exactly the same as last year.

beat texas - hooray big ups.
lose to crap teams because prince cant prepare - baylor and ISU
lose to ku

this year, im doubting a bowl, and Rutgers will be this years fresno.

i like football, i really do, but i dont care about comparing to other first year coaches. that doesnt mean crap to me. i want our coach to go out and win the games the should.

I know, that's why I'm frustrated with this year. Our only chance of improvement, would be to win @NU/Fresno and win our bowl game.

As an entire team, we don't look like we have in place to make a run any time soon.  Our offense has made strides this year and will be back next year (minus Jordy, huge loss), but our defense will be in shambles next year.  JF's senior year he'll be behind practically an entirely new OL.  That will be an interesting year.

agreed. winning the rest and going to a bowl would seperate us from last year like no other...and get me excited about next year.

The difference between this year and last year seems to be the way we lose games, honestly. Last year we lost games by 15-20 points and won games by 5-10. This year we win games by large margins and lose the close ones in the end. I don't know if you would say that was an improvement or digression or the same or what. Regardless, I agree, the inconsistency is still there.

I'd like to win, but I'd also like to be able to make fun of ku for their LOIC. Gary is almost sure to bring a long baggage. We need bragging rights on and off the field.

Bragging about being clean in the eyes of the NCAA is for losers.
