The Midnight Madness thread on GPC.  I was so embarrased, that I didn't even want to go back and read to see  who thought that having the Midnight Madness the Friday night before the Texas game would be a good idea in order to sell it out. :banghead:  I know we're going to be simply amazing next year, but you'd think we would want to start practicing in October like the rest of college basketball.

Reminds me of ku football fans who don't even know what time of year bowl season is.

Most ku fans go to the Spring Game a week early.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Are you really a "ref guy"?

If I wasn't, I probably wouldn't have the screen name.  However, I'm not one of the guys that everyone had problems with.  All of them have moved on.  I'm sure you can tell me stories about how they cheated and screwed you out of seats.

Actually, I'm moving on as well.  I got reserved for next season.

I've never had a problem with the saving seats or anything, I just find most of the "Ref guys" to be idiots.  I'm sure you're the exception to the rule.

Also, I know guys that went to K-State that are actually real-life referees.  It's not like it was a stupid question.

Remember Rusty, there are no stupid questions.

I remember the first crew of K-State refs from Asbury's era, they were nice guys who hung out at the bar I worked at.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Actually, I think they go all the way back to the Altman days.

I think you're right actually, it was Altman's days ~they showed up around 93-94?
Unfortunately I was up there for far too long.

I met most of the ref guys two seasons ago waiting with my friends.  The torch for the ref guys keeps getting handed down.  The guys who are doing it now are mostly younger brothers.  My other friends will be seniors next year so I'll probably retire from the crew and mostly hang out with them.

I expect the entire season next year to be like waiting for the ku game.  Getting reserved seats lets us tailgate longer without having to waste 5 hours beforehand. And as Saul said, the refs are perhaps too classy.  I'm starting to get a classless streak in me. :chainsaw:

    The very best.
The ku game this year was ridiculous.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I'm so glad I no longer ever have to wait for seats again.  Although I will miss the Wooly days of being able to show up 5 minutes before tip off vs Stephen F Austin and being able to get front row seats.

I'm not sure what tack I'll take.....I'm pretty much the "old guy in the club" when it comes to the front row anyway...maybe if I get reserved seats up a little higher, I'll be able to lose the sunglasses........nahhh..

It was 1993, during the Altman era.  What bar did you work at?  Because we went to all of them... :beerchug:

Barry making your younger brother wait in line for you while you show up 5 min. beforehand is classless.  That's why you wear the sunglasses.

Some of the ref guys are simply terrible human beings.

In '93 I was working at Dean's but went over to 12st Pub and bartended when they opened.

First row was awesome, but it was pretty nice to not have to wait in line this past season, especially during crappy weather.
