Anyone else get the feeling that ku just wanted this game more then our guys did?  We had some emotion early but seemed to lose it as the game went on.  Came out from halftime in a tie game and were flat as a pancake.

Not making excuses ku was/is the better team but I think this is the aspect of Prince's scheduleing that gets overlooked.  This was our 3rd big game of the year out of 5 total games. From a national point of view it wasn't even as big as the Auburn or Texas game either one.  It's good to be hardened to go play people as Prince says but at the same time I don't think you want to be ho hum about playing a game like this.  I get the feeling our guys might have been a little non chalent about this game because they had already played Auburn and Texas.

ku has been pointing to this game since the beginning of the season they were even talking about it at big 12 media day.   They were clearly the more nervous team early but once they settled in it was also clear they were the more determined and better prepared team.  We clearly didn't play to the same level we played at last week or at Auburn.

Our guys seem to take more of an NFL mentality just go out and play each week and treat each game the same.  That seems to be what Prince teaches and maybe overall that is the best way to go about things but I don't think I can handle any more of these butt kickings by ku.  Emotion is important in college football and ku had the emotional edge on us.  Also I think the buy week made a difference in preperation and gave them an advantage just as it gave us an advantage vs. Texas last week.

I don't think so.  Prince was running last years game in the building on a loop.  No way after the embarressment that was last years game, did we not want this game bad.

Jordy and Marcus, seniors, would not allow this team to not be ready or not want this game.

We just got beat and outcoached again.

No, I don't think it was lack of desire.  It was more of "why are we tied with them at the half" shock that the crowd and some of the players had.  "We beat Texas, WTH is going on?" was the emotion.  I cannot believe after 4 years of crappy-to-average football we still have this idea that we don't have to work for the wins at KSU.  That has to stop soon.

I think they knew they had to work to win but I'm just not sure they had as much in the tank as ku did.  ku has been storeing it up all year waiting for this game.  Our guys have had a couple of emotional games prior to this one.

I also think that ku is just a big strong physical team that we don't match up with all that well.  We match up better with speed based teams like Auburn and Texas.

It think it's great when we come up with intangible things like "desire" as reasons for a loss so we don't have to accept the fact that ku is a better team than us this year.

I never used the word desire and I did say they were the better team.  That doesn't mean there were not other factors involved.  Matchups and emotion have a lot to do with college football.  They had both of those on their side today just like we had both of those on our side last week vs. Texas.
