I'm not gonna lie, I don't really have a mind-blowing point to make...just thought of all the similarities while watching The Sequel. Did I miss any?

I thought it was a trick questions since Texas didn't win either of them.

Applewhite threw three and then we also recovered a fumble.

    Goomba attack
Applewhite actually had 6 turnovers: 3 fumbles, 3 interceptions.

For the record.

They were similar in some ways for sure.

1999.   Ksu was up 18-17 and we went for it on 4th and short and Beasley ran the wrong play and it looked like Ksu just blew a big oppourtunity.

The next 6 plays from scrimmage included ....
1) pick-6 by Simoneau
2) Applewhite fumble caused by Simoneau
3) David Allen 30+ yd TD run
4) Applewhite sacked and fumble caused by D Howard giving Ksu the ball inside the Texas 10 yd line.

man that game turned in a hurry!

    Since 1996
Biggest difference: In 1999 Jon Wefald talked mad smack on Texas on the KSU AD website before the game.  Texas fans thought he was crazy.

"Outside of Texas, very few people cheer for the Longhorns because the University of Texas represents in most people's minds incredible wealth and arrogance," Wefald told a Sporting News columnist. "Many Texans believe that the world begins and ends with Texas."
