What are your expectations of what Colon can deliver in year 2 of his campaign of terror here at KSU? He gets forgotten about a lot when we look into this coming season because he sucked last year but what people need to realize is that it takes bigs a lot longer to develop. A good question is did Martinstein go out and hire a staff of recruiters and tell Underhill to develop the guys?
Things that are going to hurt Colon's development-Who the hell is our big man coach? Under Huggs it was Martin and Huggs, under Asbury it was David Campbell, under Altman it was Ken Thomas. Altman/Asbury staffs were more coaches than recruiters, has the pendulum swung 180 degrees?
Some players develop themselves, some players need coaching. We know what category Colon fits in. Will he get the support?
-No older big men to learn from in practice. It helps to have a big body to bang against (relax John Brown, I'm not talking about your wife) in practice. I used to play against Barrett Brooks and Ryan Young a lot and you learn quick how to get stronger, having someone his size on the court will make him better. I first thought Beasley but using those two names in the same sentence doesn't make sense. Beaz would take him outside and that'd be that.
I think for us to be successful this year we're going to need to see some improvement from Colon on the defensive side of the court and in rebounding. That's going to require him to learn to move his feet faster and improve his strength in the paint. He'll also need to play smarter and foul less, but those things will come with his increased speed and size. We're going to need a lot of minutes from him this season.
I'd be

with 6 and 8 but think it will be more like 4 and 4
