Most cops are not bad.  They do a very tough job and don't get paid dick.  Just cuz some crybabies got their 17 y.o. ass busted for MIP or got caught with a roach doesn't make the cops bad.
Sure...that still doesn't change the fact that this cop gunned down a guy for absolutely no f*cking reason.

i would be willing to bet that whatever you do for a living doesnt have life or death consequences like a cop faces every day.  cops are pretty paranoid people b/c if they werent they wouldnt survive long on the job.  so when they make mistakes they are generally pretty bad mistakes.  that cop had a split second decision to make about what kind of a threat the guy really was.  just b/c he said he was on the cops side doesnt make it true.  if a cop believed everything he was told he would not make it very long on the job.

the cop made a bad decision that had very serious consequences.  i thank God every day that someone like you doesnt have to make those choices.
It's funny that you make that declaration just because I said it was f*cked up that a cop gunned down a guy that was obeying the cops orders. The cop said stand up, the guy went to stand up, the cop fired multiple shots into the guy. Not even just one shot. He fired multiple times at a guy that was lying on the ground, defenseless. Then he radioed in for backup before even checking to see if the guy that he had just inexplicably shot was alright.

You can't ever use the excuse of "my job is real tough, I'm under a lot of pressure" to excuse a mistake that has that big of consequences. I don't recall a draft being called up of police officers. The asshole decided to be a cop on his own will.

you are exactly right, its a good thing they dont draft people to be cops b/c then someone like yourself could end up having to be one.  he chose to take on a high pressure job b/c he believed he was helping people like you.  you should thank him.

and by the way, cops are trained to radio for backup before checking on the asshole they just shot, so at least in that effect he did the right thing.  if that guy was still alive and had a weapon he could have killed the cop and then got up b/c he was faking his injury (which in this case i know he clearly wasnt but cops take precautions) and then gone on to hurt an innocent civilian such as yourself.

one more thing cops are trained to fire more than one shot.  ever heard of two to the chest and one to the head?  if a cop fires his gun his intent is to kill the guy not injure him.  so him firing more than one shot is not any worse than him firing only one.  if he had fired only one i, and people who know what the hell is going on, would say the guy was completely incompetent.  right now i think he made an honest mistake and will probably be regretting it for the rest of his life.  imagine having to live with that.

if you want to change the way the police do their job become one or do something about it.  otherwise shut the hell up.
You really are a mindless idiot. We shouldn't ever criticize the government either, right? There's nothing wrong with society, correct? I'm embarrassed for you and for Kansas State.

FWIW, do any of you realize what cops get paid?

Some cops are dick holes, no doubt, but I know a lot more that are cool people that are putting their life on the line because they believe in something more than you ever will.   To hate or distrust all cops is very narrow-minded and I can almost guarantee you that at one point in your life you will need one.   Hopefully it will change your opinion.
I have an incredible amount of respect for police officers - just not police officers that gun down innocent civilians. I have relatives that work in law enforcement. I know that what they do is tough. But that doesn't excuse someone from that big of a mistake. It doesn't make Swish less of a dumbass either.

I agree; my rant was more about grouping all cops in with this dick hole.

my rant was also more about that than what it really came off as.  i was not trying to excuse the cop.  lets just say i work in the law enforcement field and understand the types of decisions that cops have to make every day.  that guy made a HUGE mistake and he should be held accountable but for people to lump all cops into one category is a terrible mistake.
