I still don't get what happened there.  Why again did Prince run him?

I am fairly sure that if you got Prince off the record, he would tell you he made some mistakes in trying to make examples of some kids.

doubtful.  Schmidt wasn't going to class or rehabbing like he was supposed to...it's not like Prince wasn't aware that he needed lineman and that Schmidt was one of his better interior lineman.

You know half the story with Schmidt.  Only the negative aspect is what 'leaks' while other stuff is kept under wraps.  We are talking about kids and some stuff hits them hard and they have trouble dealing with adult stuff.

I think it is a no brainer that Prince will give him the boot.  We don't need kids like this in our program.

Wow, were these posts back to back?

Rusty,
Schmidt didn't break into a person's house.  Don't compare apples and oranges.

Thanks.  Players that don't focus can get booted.  Not always the coach's fault.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Watched Ryan in a couple of USF games last year. Very good player. :frown:

I remember when we had all of the pictures of the O-Line in 2005 that we thought would very good & young.

Schmidt, Spexarth, Wafford, Clary, &  Hafferty.

Than injuries and just plain suckage happened.

and Matt Boss.

It's a long list...which is why Ron Prince must find some recruitment success with offensive line kids or we aren't going to win the North before Freeman is done here.

That future of the o-line with Freeman is now this group: Stringer, Meyer, Unruh, Viers, Kendall, Aufner, Mayfield, Freeze.  Those are the young guys Prince has to work with between now and when Josh leaves.  Hopefully he can find 5 good ones out of that bunch.  I'm actually pretty optimistic of how things will look on the o-line a couple of years down the road.
lt- Aufner
lg- Meyer
c- Viers
rg- Unruh
rt- Stringer

We're going to have to keep recruiting good players for depth purposes but I actually like the young o-line talent in the program right now with the exception of one or two of those kids.
