Rivals is reporting that Kristof has chosen Syracuse.  This after Northwestern pulled a stunt on him where they asked him not to visit because the head  coach was out of town...even though they knew Kristof was visitinng Cuse the next weekend.

In my mind, this confirms that we are much, much better off with Victor than Kristof.  Both KSU and Northwestern were backing away from this guy.  The only thing that stumps me is why Syracuse was on him...I have no idea what their "needs" were this year.

I think Northwestern may just be utterly clueless when it comes to anything.

No loss there.  He wasn’t even the best interior player on his mediocre JUCO team.  We got a much better player in Victor...

2000-01 Northwestern 11-19 .367
2001-02 Northwestern 16-13 .552
2002-03 Northwestern 12-17 .414
2003-04 Northwestern 14-15 .483
2004-05 Northwestern 15-16 .484
2005-06 Northwestern 14-15 .483
2006-07 Northwestern 13-18 .419

And a poster on kstatefans wanted to hire Carmody last year.  He'll be back for his 8th year, FWIW.

i don't think that was me, but i've always liked carmody.  really good coach.  i don't understand why no one can seem to win at northwestern though.

It wasn't you.  I agree that he is a good coach and he's probably hampered at NW, but I'm not sure he's proven any ability to recruit to a BCS school.

that was me, and I know damn well that Carmody is an excellent coach so not afraid to say so, why he can't get it going at Northwestern is not that hard to figure out.

i agree.  in fact, i'm not sure he proved he could recruit to princeton.  he has proven he can take existing talent and coach the hell out of it though.

if he had the same ethics as Barney he'd be able to get the players in there, but as it is with the entrance requirements he'll struggle to get anyone of real talent.  I suppose he thought it would be a job identical to Princeton but in a better conference, I don't know why else he'd have taken the job.  I wish he'd move on, I'd like to watch his teams compete again.
