    The very best.
and his 2006 w/l record was the same as Prince's, including the same wins/scores etc...

Wouldn't everyone be praising him? (ksu fans, local/national media..)
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    I miss him ^^
Are people hating on Prince?  Most people I've talked to or most things I have read were pretty positive about his first year.  It sort of hurt to get blown out the games we did......especially to our "rival".

Local:  Only to the extent that he reminds people of Bill Snyder.

All i'm saying is if we hired a big-name coach, and he improved us 2 conference games his 1st year, everyone would be saying how that was proof he is one of the conference's best coaches. Like they did with Huggins last year.

You're probably right.  In all seriousness, the media is largely a collection of regurgitating dumbasses.

Ya I could see that maybe being the case.  I think you would be hearing a lot more praise for him if we would have been more competitive the last 2 games.  If Texas was our last game of the year then there would be a lot more love/praise for him.  When you just get trounced the last 2 games, it sort of hurts the off-season publicity.

Except the cost per win would probably be double.

Am I missing something? Outside of the Texas game, what did K-State do last year?

K-State won 3 games at home against teams it had no business losing to: Illinois St., FAU, Marshall
K-State won 2 games at home against Big 12 teams it was better than: Iowa St., Oklahoma St.
Tack on a road win against awful Colorado, and there's bowl eligibility. 6 wins.
No way in hell was K-State worse than Baylor and ku, yet it dropped both of those.

For a flawed team, last year's schedule set up perfectly for at least 8 wins.

Not saying Prince didn't have a good year, he did ... but it could have been better.  :)

I could spin every teams 2006 w/l record just like you did. Everyone beats bad teams, and loses to good ones.

Bottomline is he went 4-4 in big 12 play, after we went 4-12 the previous two seasons.

Yeah.  I disagree completely.

"We beat teams that we're better than in ISU and OSU."

If we had lost to them, we wouldn't have been better than them.

If you're talking strictly about talent, then OSU and Colorado probably have more than K-state.

And as pathetic as it is, ku and Baylor have comparable talent to K-state.  Probably not as good, but comparable.

Games like the Baylor game, and the ku game were bound to happen last year.

KSU is Mark Mangino's super bowl and I knew just after the Texas game that KSU wouldn't do well in Lawrence.  My biggest complaint about the ku game is that friggin Prince goes into the damn game with 2.5 of his top receivers hurt.  He should've been playing ball control, field position football all day.  That was just bad coaching by Prince, and lets hope he learned his lesson.

ku's talent on both sides of the line of scrimmage was/is far superior to KSU's.  Not even close.

Maybe, unfortunately for the Corn the coaching scale looks like this

OU > the rest of the scrubs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NU

I think that people would be praising Butch more and that probably has something to do with his past success.  Prince has no past, no history; we have nothing to say "he's doing what he did at 'x' school".  Was anyone really praising Stoops after his first year at OU (which was comparable from a w/l standpont)?  I don't remember them doing so.  And I'm not in any way, shape, or form comparing Prince and Stoops as football coaches.

Had we got BV and had the same season, people would be clammoring for a contract extension.

To be fair, we'd probably have a much better 2007 recruiting class w/ Venables & Wyatt leading the charge.  So he would have had that going for him.

But no Josh Freeman so they would have had that going against them.

I'd rather have an o-line and d-tackles than Freeman.

Venebles would have gotten smoked by TX....but won against Baylor.
