For having the balls to hire Huggy Bear.  After the debacle that was the last 2 games of the NCAA tournament, its apparent to anyone that if any big 12 team is going to get over that hump and win the title, they will have to toughen up during the conference season.  As a ku fan, I'm glad to know that with the athletes coming in, we can look forward to at least 2 games each February and March against a team that will be able to turn up the pressure defensively.  Hopefully, some of the other North teams can get the players necessary to groom a champion out of this league.

Because it needs to be said again, Bob Huggins is great for this league.   :woohoo:

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Once you start losing to us with regularity, you won't be as thankful.

I've never understood why some people think losing is good.

They're so interchangeable . . . corn football fans, squawk basketball fans.   "We need the other teams to be good to help us out" . . . which really means, "We're still going to beat those guys all the time, but they'll make us better in the process".

Who said anything about beating you guys?  The streak will end within the next 2 years.  You might take one at Allen next year.  Losing is never good, but if the result of the loss is that you learn from it and improve, then you might be better off the next time you face the same situation.  This crap of being the only major conference without a title is getting old.

    shame on you, non-believers
I love it when ku fans—either directly or indirectly—blame the rest of the Big XII for not preparing them for the Dance. Freakin' hilarious.

Yes, clearly the reason ku lost to UCLA was because CU was terrible.

Brandon Rush just missed another layup.

It would be nice if the 4th place team in the Big 12 could get out of the 2nd round of the NIT.  It's too bad that Beasley will only be at K-State for one year.  We need all the competition we can get.

When is Bill Self going to get someone drafted?  Elite recruits might start questioning Self's ability to develop players.

Yes, if KSU would have only beaten DePaul it would have propelled ku past UCLA.

Hmmm, someone got in front of Collins and caused him to miss a layup, now if only someone in a hostile environment in February had gotten in front of him.....

So, losing more and having a lower seed is something ukan fans want -- seems Self needs the one seed to get out of the 1st rd.  Too bad the weak ACC hindered UNC.

That said, I guess the last time ukan won the NC they were beaten by Kst8 three times, right?

ku Losing in the NCAA tourney-We lost because the Big 12 and K-State suck.

Mangino committing academic fraud-He learned it from Bill Snyder.

While I agree with you about competition making you better, but maybe you should play a tougher OOC schedule, especially on the road? It's not like the mediocrity of th Big 12 was some huge surprise.

I agree that ku should try playing a bit tougher OOC schedule, but it's not economically beneficial to go on the road if you're a big-time program like ku.  We generate so much total revenue from home basketball games that I don't see the athletic department including a lot of road games on the schedule any time soon.  Next year, we'll play USC and Georgia Tech on the road, and Arizona in the Big 12/Pac 10 challenge.  We are supposed to have a return game at Michigan State at some point, but they keep moving it back on us.

If the Big 12 loses Gillispie and Barnes to somewhere like Kentucky or Arkansas, we're going to be in some serious trouble.  My hope is that someday the bottom teams in the Big 12 will be every bit as hard-nosed and tough defensively as teams like Southern Illinois and Creighton.  There's no reason why Colorado and Iowa State should have such terrible basketball programs.  If they can't get talent, the least they can do is play disciplined basketball and good defense.

Twice, actually.  KSU won at Allen and in the Big 8 tournament that year.  ku won at Manhattan and in Ponitac, MI.

Someone got in front of Collins with a #3 Meal from McDonald's and distracted him.
