Why in the world would Gillispie want to go to Arkansas?  I mean, maybe Kentucky, but Arkansas?  They have got to be having a wet dream in Little Rock...

Kevin Weiberg kept Billie out of the Final Four.

Hogs are dreaming.  They're a pretend big time program.  Only a real big time program could get Gillespie, IE Kentucky.

Noone wants to live in Arkansas willingly, and A&M probably has comparable pockets.

The only way Gillespie goes to Arkansas is if they pay him more than A&M can/will.

I'm not saying that isn't possible, but if that happens I'll say that the aggies are dumb as bricks.  They should take some of the money they're giving mediocre fran and give it to overachieving Billy G.  The pay difference is ridiculous, especially considering the results comparisons.

I realize football is obviously a bigger money pumping machine than basketball, but damn.

The article I read on foxsports made it sound like it was almost a done deal and he might be introduced as early as tomorrow.  Damn...  Just when the big 12 was getting more competition than just UT and ku.  The Big 12 could have been fantastic next year.

I still want my cooler, bitches!

Fayetteville is actually a great place. right next to a lake, great bar district and on the southern tip of the ozarks. The rest of Arkansas doesn't even compare. The NW part of Arkansas has mad money too, can anyone say the Walton family. They already donated a jumbo-tron that you can see from a mile away, i'm sure they wouldn't mind helping out in other ways. I'm not saying he will go, but fayetteville > college station.

    Overkill. It works.
FWIW 580 mentioned a while ago that Gillispie has agreed in principle to a contract with Arkansas.  If this materializes, its a HUGE blow to aTm.  I'd also be a little surprised, since Gillispie has made such a big deal about himself being a Texas boy coaching at a Texas school.  I wonder if he's using Arkansas as a bargaining chip for a bigger paycheck.

A&M is a football school, they could care less about the hoops program.  Going to a place where you *might* possibly have a shot at being on relatively even footing with the football program could be attractive.

I agree, very nice place. Also Arkansas is one of the top ten biggest college hoops budgets.
