Title: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Post by: doom on December 13, 2008, 01:11:14 PM
There needs to be a 2012 recruiting thread.

Frank and Brad Underwood were in Wichita last night to see Perry Ellis. Apparently, Underwood has been a mainstay here, attending an "intra-squad" scrimmage last week as well.

One of my HS/JH friends was Perry Ellis' HC at Brooks.  On Saturday I went back to Brooks to play some ball with friends.  In my friends gym office is a autographed picture of Calipari to my friend.  I asked him if Frank and the boys had a shot.  He said they were making a push.

Hopefully these next few years we can get our share of wins against ku to steal him away from them.

BTW- he also said that Heights has a really good team.  He thought they would win multiple state titles.  I guess they have a handful of freshmen playing varsity.

Wesley chose a great school in ISU. He will be great there. Coach McDermott got a great player when taking Wesley. Just think of that cyclone team when Wesley is a freshmen...Chris Colvin and if somehow coach mac can pull Mr. Barns from Ames High that team right there would be an NCAA team for sure and look for that team to build off of that and keep that going in Ames..Good Choice wesley!

Hey, guyz.

Instead of a "blizzard", why not have a "perry Ellis-out" for the ku game.

You know, just wear shirts like this:

You could probably just wear something from Marshall's or JC Penny's, doubt P.E. will notice.

Better than the team with Darnell Valentine, Antoine Carr and 4 other  D-1 prospects?

They played a good Wyandotte team in the state finals and it was 28-0 before Wyandotte scored.

Ellis, Heights win title

By Brent Maycock
March 14, 2009
EMPORIA — Perry Ellis may someday join the likes of former Wichita Heights legends Antoine Carr and Darnell Valentine in the NBA.
Saturday, the Heights freshman phenom joined another club to which the former Falcons belong: State champion.
Benefitting from nine points and 20 rebounds from Ellis and getting 19 points from Austin Bahner and 17 from Dorrian Roberts, Wichita Heights captured its first state title since 1977 — a team led by Carr and Valentine. The Falcons got off to a blazing start and downed crosstown rival Wichita Southeast 73-58 in the Class 6A state championship game at White Auditorium.
"We told the kids we weren't going to peak until our last game," Heights coach Joe Auer said. "And I thought we had a peak performance."
Especially early. Heights blew out to a 37-21 halftime lead on the strength of 46-percent shooting in the opening half. Roberts had the hot hand in particular, hitting 5 of 6 shots, including all three 3-point attempts, and scoring 13 first-half points. Bahner also made all three of his 3-point attempts en route to his 19-point outing.
Heights had a 14-2 run in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Heights finished207 of 10 from 3-point range in beating Southeast, the defending champions, for the third time this season.
"We've been so close, so many times," Auer said. "The kids probably don't understand that, but for me it was a big feeling of relief, to get that monkey off our back."
Joe Mitchell made 11 of 23 shots, including 9 of 15 in the second half, and scored a game-high 26 for Southeast.
Ellis didn't have a huge scoring game, drawing double and triple teams every time he touched the ball. But he was big on the boards and his presence created open shots for his teammates and they usually knocked them down.

EMPORIA - Before the basketball season began, all the Wichita City League coaches had the Heights boys among the top three in the league. But nearly all were picking the Falcons b ehind defending state champion Southeast and East.
Heights proved them all wrong, winning the league and on Saturday putting an emphatic cap on its season, defeating Southeast for the third time this season and by the widest margin yet, 73-58, to capture the Class 6A state championship.
"We proved we're the best team in the City League and the state of Kansas today," coach Joe Auer said. "For20Dorrian (Roberts) and Austin (Bahner) to have the game they had today ... for them to go out on top like that, I couldn't ask for a better parting gift."
The two senior starters, Bahner had a team-high 19 points, 14 of them in the second half, while Roberts lit it up in the first half, when he scored 13 of his 17.
It was Heights' second state championship. The first was a long time ago, in 1977.
"It's fulfilling for our school," Roberts said. "It's been 32 years. It's a big accomplishment with what we've come through in our freshman and sophomore years. This has been a goal since we played East at the start of the season. To finish by playing our rival Southeast and win state is the best thing that has ever happened in my life."
Heights finished 24-1, losing only to Hutchinson by one point in the first round of the McPherson Invitational on20Jan. 22.
On Saturday, Heights and Southeast both came out sizzling. After Southeast's Joe Mitchell scored on=2 0a layup, Bahner answered with a 3-pointer. Mitchell matched that with his own 3-pointer, and then Roberts hit two treys himself.
At that point, it was 9-5 Heights and neither team had missed.
It remained a tight, back-and-forth-game until the 4:51 mark, when Roberts hit his third trey, his 11th point of the game, to give the Falcons a 14-11 lead.
It was a lead they would never relinquish.
Southeast cooled off, scoring only two points over nearly five minutes. Meanwhile, other Heights players - Perry Ellis, Evan Wessel, Thomas Bland and Dreamis Smith - got into the scoring act and th e Falcons built a 10-point lead, 23-13 with 1:35 remaining in the first quarter.
The Falcons continued to build on that lead in the second quarter and it reached as many as 19 points at 37-18 with 2:19 to go in the half.
The teams went to the locker room at halftime with Heights leading 37-21.
Southeast=2 0coach Carl Taylor started Ronald Cobb in place of Tayler Rock in the second half, and the Buffaloes immediately went inside to the big man for a cou ple of baskets. Mitchell made a 16-foot jumper and then Deontae Hayden hit a shot to make it a 10-point game, 39-29, with 4:35 left in the third quarter.
But that's where Heights drew the line in the sand. Southeast would get no closer.
Ellis made a free throw and then Bahner got going, scoring Heights' next eight points.
"It's our last game, and we wanted to go all out," said Bahner.
Mitchell tried to keep Southeast in it, scoring the Buffaloes' next 12 points himself. But throughout the second half, when Mitchell scored 21 of his game-high 26, Heights always had a response, and then some.
And when Bahner hit a layup for the last of his points with 3:39 remaining in the game, Heights had its largest lead, 21 points at 68-47, and the game was out of reach for Southeast.
Bahner made six of his nine shots, including all three of his 3-point attempts, and Roberts was six of 10, including 3-for-4 from long range.
"Dorrian and B ahner shot lights out," Taylor said. "... The better team won."
Ellis, only a freshman and already one of the best - if not the best player - in the state, had only nine points while being double- and triple-teamed every time he touched the ball. But he owned the glass, pulling down 20 rebounds and giving Heights a 49-36 rebounding advantage.
"I told the kids not to peak until the last game," Auer said, "and I thought we had a peak performance today."
Southeast finished its season 20-5.
"Our goal was to get back here and defend our title," Taylor said. "We didn't get it done, but we did get back here. I'm proud of them."

No.1 Freshman Perry Ellis leads Heights to title...
By Van Coleman [email protected]
Perry Ellis and his Wichita Heights teammates take the Kansas 6A Championship...
It has been 32 years since Wichita Heights had won the Kansas High School Championship, and the stars were named Antoine Carr and Darnell Valentine, two of the best to ever lace'm up in the Sunflower state. But, there is a new sheriff in town, and his name is Perry Ellis, as the 6-8 freshman led a balanced and talented Heights squad to a 73-58 victory in the 6A title game over a tough Wichita Southeast squad.

The Heights squad dominated the glass and utilized some excellent outside shooting by seniors Austin Bahner and Dorian Roberts, they combined for five-threes prior in the first half, to open a double digit lead midway through the second quarter. They controlled the glass the rest of the half and opened up 37-21 over Southeast.

Southeast made it interesting in the third quarter as 6-6 Joe Mitchell took over, scoring on the perimeter and off the dribble to close the gap to 54-41 at the end of the third quarter. But, Ellis and his teammates went on a 14-2 run early in the fourth quarter, then coasted to a 73-58 win.

Wichita Heights top guns were Austin Bahner with 19 points and Dorian Roberts with 17 points, while 6-1 sophomore Dreamis Smith chipped in with 10 points in the win. But, it was the dominate work by Ellis on the glass who finished with a whopping 20 rebounds and 9 points, despite being triple teamed most of the night, that gave the Heights the edge to win their first title since 1977!

It most likely won't be Wichita Heights last, as Ellis will team up with sophomore guards Dreamis Smith and Evan Wessell to form a solid nucleus to build around the next couple of years.

Ellis averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds for Wichita Heights leading them to a 24-1 record. He has the tools to pick and pop or roll to hoop and score in paint with either hand. He has excellent hands and superior footwork, and as you can see by his effort in the championship game can dominate the glass.

He has early interest from Kansas, Kansas State, North Carolina, Memphis, and Indiana, but that list will start to grow again this spring!

Ellis will be traveling with the Spiece Mo-Kan squad this spring and summer.

WICHITA H EIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUT NAMED
GATORADE KANSAS BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

CHICAGO (March 24, 2009) — In its third decade of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, in partnership with ESPN RISE, today announced Perry Ellis of Wichita Heights High School as its 2008-09 Gatorade Kansas Boys Basketball Player of the Year.  Ellis is the first Gatorade Kansas Boys Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Wichita Heights High School.

The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on=2 0and off the court, distinguishes Ellis as Kansas’ best high school boys basketball player.  Ellis is now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year award to be announced in late March.

The freshman power forward and center led the Falcons to a 24-1 record and the Class 6A state championship this season, averaging 19.2 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.  A 2008 Reebok Breakout Underclass Camp All-Tournament Team selection and a Reebok u All-American Camp invitee, the 6-foot-8, 210-pound Ellis recorded 20 rebounds, nine points, three assists and one block in a 73-58 victory against Southeast in the Class 6A state final.  He shot 61 percent from the field and 65 percent from the free throw line this winter.

“What Perry Ellis has done as a freshman is remarkable,” said Lonnie Lollar, head coach of rival Bishop Carroll High. “He has done truly good things. He’s an extremely intelligent young man. His sportsmanship is top-notch. He has done things the right way. He scores 20 points per game and averages double-digits in rebounding—which is phenomenal in our league for a freshman. He’s the missing piece that put that team over the top.”

Ellis will begin his sophomore year of high school this fall.

The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one winner in the District of Columbia and each of the 50 states that sanction high school football, girls volleyball, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, baseball, softball, and boys and girls track & field. The selection process is administered by ESPN RISE, which works with top sport-specific experts and a media advisory board of accomplished, veteran prep sports journalists to determine the state winners in each sport.

Ellis joins recent Gatorade Kansas Boys Basketball Players of the Year Travis Releford (2007-08, Bishop Miege HS), Tyrel Reed (2006-07, Burlington HS), and Casey Crawford (2005-06, Blue Valley North HS) among the state’s list of former award winners.

Wow...I wasn't really impressed with perry till that last highlight video. He plays two years above his level. Has absolutely great hands and great instinct in terms of rebounding. I don't know about his outside game, but i'm also a little weary of his competition. I don't think it's really fair to judge him against Kansas HS bballers.

Well, he must be good on the summer circuit too because he is invited to the Amare and LeBron Skills camp this summer according the Kansas.com

Ellis, a member of the Nike-sponsored Kansas Players AAU organization, was one of 20 post players in the country invited to the Amare Stoudemire Skills Academy. The camp takes place in Phoenix from June 28-July 1.

The Stoudemire camp is part of the Nike Summer Series that features four position camps -- Vince Carter, Paul Pierce, and Deron Williams host others. The 80 combined participants will travel to Akron, Ohio to participate in the LeBron James Skills Academy. The top 30 players from there will be selected to represent Nike's USA teams against International teams at the Nike Global Challenge. Two freshmen participated in the 2008 Summer Series.

No, favorites really at this point.   He knows that Kstate has been to at least 4 of his games so I am sure that leaves an impression.  ku was at 3; OU was at 2; WSU was at 2 and Texas A&M just came for an open gym last week.

Can't do it.  Would make it too awkward for family and friends.  Best to just do it in the late period like Stephenson.

I don't know what you are talking about I don't have a favorite college team.  I cheer for KSTATE, ku and WSU just because they are all from Kansas.  Some of the articles I post may have favored ku but that doesn't mean I agree with them.  Just reporting the news that is all.

Coach Hill and Underwood were at the Wichita Heights open gym last night along with Coach Ferguson of Okla State.  Kstate is doing their part to let Perry know he is wanted.

No, I don't know if he is attending the camp in Manhattan.  The problem is he is invited to some many elite camps and he just can't attend them all.   What he is really focusing on are the Amare Stoudemire Nike Skills camp in June and the LeBron James Skills Academy in July.  As far as i know he is planning on playing in the Manhattan classic again this year.

NY2LASPORTS.COM - CLASS OF 2012 PLAYER RANKINGS

E-mail us at [email protected] with questions or comments
RANKINGS WEEK is in full swing here at NY2LASports.com and after releasing our new Top 150 for the 2010 & 2011 classes earlier this week we head into the future today with a look at what is shaping up to be a very strong 2012 class nationally.  With tons of size, lots of explosive athletes, and some big time sleepers the 2012 class has all the makings of something exciting in the coming years and you can expect to hear an awful lot about some of the names that made the cut in the new NY2LASports.com Top 150 for the Class of 2012.  Here's a look at some of what you can expect to see from the rising sophomore class nationally...
NY2LASPORTS.COM TOP 150 PLAYER RANKINGS - CLASS OF 2012
Power Forwards/Centers
Bigs, bigs, and more bigs is the story of the day here as the 2012 class has a number of interior prospects from coast to coast that are sure to land on the radars of college coaches across the country.  Be sure to remember names like 6-9 DaJuan Coleman of Syracuse, New York (#5); 6-11 Andre Drummond of Hartford, Connecticut (#7); 6-7 Ricardo Gathers of LaPlace, Louisiana (#9), and 6-9 Hanner Perea of Birmingham, Alabama (#11) as they're sure to generate a lot of pub in the coming years.

However, while each of those is a promising talent in his own right, the bar in the 2012 class could be set by 6-8 Kansas native Perry Ellis.  Ellis has excellent length, a solid skill set, great feel for the game, and untapped potential that colleges across the country are already lining up around the block to see.  With a big time high school season already under his belt and rave reviews from coast to coast, Ellis is a blue chip talent that oozes potential and is one of the 2012 prospects by which others are measured at this point in the game.

Point Guards
Looking at a deep floor general group in the 2012 class the conversation must start with 6-7 Kyle Anderson of Fairview, New Jersey.  Not only does the young Anderson have excellent instincts and big time physical upside but he flat out knows how to play and puts it down on the national circuit in a major way.  With a couple tournament championships under his belt this spring, Anderson continues to evolve into a big time talent and provided he can continue to develop his skills on the defensive end against smaller and quicker guards, Anderson could become one of the best floor generals to come down the pipe in a long time.
Anderson isn't the only 2012 PG to get some burn though as the 2012 class has a ton of talented young lead guards.  6-5 LaDarius White of McComb, Mississippi (#10) has to be mentioned in any conversation as he has a chance to challenge the top 5 if he continues to evolve and develop.  Add to the mix talented prospects like 6-1 Jaran Reese of Bryan, Texas (#12); 6-2 Lynden Rose of Houston, Texas (#21); 5-10 Javan Felix of New Orleans, Louisiana (#31); and 6-1 Jaylen Beckam of Lexington, Kentucky (#36) and its safe to say that there will be a number of talented floor generals getting major ink from the 2012 class over the next few years.
Shooting Guards
Putting the ball in the basket is always a top priority and the 2012 class has more than its fair share of talented perimeter scorers with range, versatility, and athleticism.  Las Vegas is always hot but the 2012 class stands to sizzle with super talents like 6-4 Shabazz Muhammad rocking the hardwood.  The mult-skilled Muhammad promises to challenge for the top spot and is already regarded by some as the top player in the 2012 class.  Muhammad is already showing he's the real deal and when talking about impact players in the 2012 class the Las Vegas phenom is a major conversational piece to say the least.
While Las Vegas is home to one of the hottest talents in the 2012 class, the country as a whole possesses some solid talent as well from top to bottom and guys like 6-4 Jordan Price of Conyers, Georgia (#8); 6-4 Christopher Thomas of Denver, Colorado (#14); 6-3 Jordan Tebbutt of Tualatin, Oregon (#22); and 6-3 Omar Calhoun of Brooklyn, New York (#27) are just of few of many talented SG's to make the cut in the new NY2LASports.com Top 150 for the Class of 2012 that stand to make a lot of noise in the coming years.
Small Forwards
Explosive wing talents and slashing scoring machines are the story of the day here and the 2012 class has a number of excellent wing talents who stand to become big time impact players over the next couple of years if they continue to progress.  Arguably the most explosive of the bunch athletically is 6-5 Justin Anderson of Spotsylvania, VA.  The young Virginia talent has hops from another planet and is a human highlight reel waiting to happen in the open floor.  Arguably one of the most hyped and discussed talents in the 2012 class for the past couple of years; Anderson gets his just due as he secures a top 5 spot in the new rankings.
As explosive and exciting as Anderson is, Philadelphia native 6-6 Savon Lloyd-Goodman is that smooth.  With an advanced skilled floor game that shreds opposing teams and stands superior to most in the 2012 class, Goodman follows in the footsteps of current Class of 2011 #1 Michael Gilchrist as the next big thing in the Team Final program.  Goodman knows how to play and does so in a smooth fashion that puts W's on the board and generates big time press in the process.
Biggest Movers
6-5 PG LaDarius White of McComb, Mississippi
6-4 SG Shabazz Muhammad of Las Vegas, Nevada
6-11 C Andre Drummond of Hartford, Connecticut
6-9 F/C Emmanuel Ochenje of Carbondale, Illinois
6-6 PF Gavin Thurman of Kansas City, Missouri
Ones to Watch
6-9 F Hanner Perea of Birmingham, Alabama
6-11 C Ismaila Dauda of Miami, Florida
6-9 PF Joshua Scott of Colorado Springs, Colorado
5-10 PG Siyani Chambers of Hopkins, Minnesota
6-2 PG Rayven Lee of Dearborn Heights, Michigan

bbhoops, please tell Perry to get to know Tony Mitchell at the Vince Carter Nike camp. If you get any info on Tony feel free to report here.  Would be interested to know what Perry thinks of him as a player and as human being.

Chris Fisher with Kentucky Ink wrote this:
On the Fourth of July, most people are grilling hamburgers and setting off fireworks to celebrate America's birthday. The Kentucky coaching staff instead played host to a recruit--2012 Wichita Heights (Kan.) power forward Perry Ellis.Ellis, his mother, Fonda, and his AAU Coach Cortland Carney, visited Memphis Friday on their way to Lexington Saturday morning. uk coach John Calipari had previously offered Ellis a scholarship at Memphis. Ellis' sister, Savannah, will be a senior on the Tigers' basketball team this season."Perry had already seen the facilities and we had a nice visit," Ellis said. "We know Coach Josh (Pastner) well from visiting Memphis several times to see my daughter Savannah."Calipari recently extended Ellis another offer from his new digs at Kentucky and the Ellis' felt compelled to come check it out on their way to the Lebron James Skills Academy in Akron, Ohio this week."We had a great visit," Ellis said. "We didn't stay in Lexington long but we got the feeling of what uk was about. It was great to hear about the long history of uk. It was worth the stop."With Calipari and uk assistant Rod Strickland were with family in Memphis, Orlando Antigua served as the Ellis' host."We already knew him really well from Memphis and he's a great guy," Ellis said. "We met DeMarcus Cousins and got to see the den that the athletes will be staying.  They said they plan to remodel just about everything."At 6-8, 215 pounds, Ellis is a skilled combo forward who is big enough at 6-8 to play down low and skilled enough to step out on the perimeter. He is projected as one of, if not the, top prospect in the 2012 class and also holds a scholarship offer from Kansas.

Hey, bbhoops, make sure that Perry is aware of Memphis' impending sanctions and probation.  I would hate for the kid to commit and run into all of that.  Wouldn't be fair to him.

And Kentucky's.  Memphis will get the initial slaps on the wrist but if they ever drop the hammer it will be on Cal.

I didn't realize that Cortland Carney was his AAU coach.  I remember him from his days in the City League.  Nice little player, good dude.

I think it's pretty obvious that dude spent the entire recruiting visit smoking tweed, pounding beers, counting the cash we gave him, picking out a new SUV, and doing coke off stripper's asses.  He just knows to keep his mouth shut.

Goodman:  Yo, Coach Martin, this place is &@#%ing awesome.  I can't wait to come back with several of my highly rated buddies and sign on the dotted line!  I'm gonna start making calls to everyone right now!

Frank:  Snitches get stitches.  Don't make me take my shirt off.

Goodman:  I fully understand you coach, I will silently commit to you right now and continue to help recruit other players behind the scenes.

Goodman has been compared to DeMarr Johnson who went to Cincy for one season. Also, Johnson is the god brother of Michael Beasley.

It is possible but not sure how hard KSU is really trying to get him they haven't even made him an offer yet.  Could be a factor in getting him down the road though I would think he would lean towards the coaches giving him the early offers.  But this is only my opinion on this.

with ellis falling from a consensus top 5 to a somewhere in the 10+ range in justin young's new 2012 list, you can see the wisdom of the staff's cautious approach.  fortunately, we do not have this not-completely-elite recruit hanging around our 2012 classes' neck like an anchor.

people earlier mocking the staff for not jumping the gun on offering ellis should be the first ones to congratulate the staff for not locking up a falling star.  but we all know that won't happen.

Now #2 on Jerry Meyers '12 list.  He's listing KSU according to Rivals.

Now #2 on Jerry Meyers '12 list.  He's listing KSU according to Rivals.

so here's the thing with austin.  team texas 17s coach is friend of frank, ray forsett.  who is also the arlington prep coach.  austin transferred to arlington prep this year, presumably recruited there by forsett.

but in googling austin, i also see a pic of him in a texas assault uniform.  have no idea if this is good, bad or nothing.  seems like it'd be good to have him following forsett around like a puppy.  but, oth, texas assault must be one of the new regional assaults.  which can't be bad, though probably isn't good.

anyways, austin should just listen to what forsett says.  unless he comes across malone somewhere, then he should probably also listen to malone.  unless malone hates kstate now for the beasley fiasco.  in which case, he's better off listening just to forsett.

Jordan Goodman - PF DC Assault guy
Perry Ellis - OK, not really legit, but whatevs
Clint McCullough - maybe best KC area prospect; 6-6 SF/PF type, we have allegedly offered
Willie Cauley - 6-11 C from Spearville; we have allegedly offered
Isaiah Austin - Elite Center from Dallas coached by Nick Russell's coach

that's about it now.

less favorable Oct. evaluation for Ellis on ESPN. Still would be a huge get.

Quote
October, 2009: Ellis has had a national reputation (Gatorade player of the year in Kansas) for quite some time, but his upside doesn't appear as promising. He is a physical specimen at the power forward spot but his frame looks maxed-out. He uses his body well to finish in traffic and he can step out and hit the mid-range pull-up at the elbow. In addition, he has a pretty deceptive 1st step while attacking the basket. However, against great athletes he needs space to finish and he doesn't play with a high motor all the time. Ellis is a solid Division I four-man for the next level, but I'm not sure if his talent translates to the highest level.

Not suprising.  Ellis has ahd that "stock is going to plummet as class catches up to him physically" feel to him since the get go.  I don't see him ever dropping out of top 100, but I don't think he's a 5-star canidate in the long run.

Duncanville (Texas) point guard Deion Houston also has the attention of college coaches. Florida International - where Houston plans to visit in January - SMU, tcu, North Texas and Georgia State have all offered Houston. Oklahoma and Baylor have hosted him on unofficial visits, and Texas A&M, Kansas State, Texas Tech, VCU and Old Dominion are also showing strong interest.

Jordan Goodman's advisor, Joe Boncore, on Goodman's game

"Boncore also coaches Jordan Goodman, a 6-9 sophomore shooting guard whom he called “the next Michael Beasley.”

Georgetown, Kentucky, Kansas State and UCLA are among the schools that are already on his radar."

Shades of Art? More than likely but I think the impressive list of schools after him says a lot about his game.

This tidbit was buried in an update about Moses Abraham, who we don't seem much of a shot at at this point.

Sounds like Goodman is almost a done deal to G'town. Obviously, there will be other prospects that will emerge for us in this class but Goodman is considered to be a Top 50 kid in the class of '12 and I was hoping the DCA connection might give us an edge. Damn.

Per Scout, Goodman has committed to G'town. In the update, Goodman mentioned his good relationship with G'town assistant David Cox as being the primary reason for his decision. Scout still has Goodman as Class of '11, don't know what's up with that.
