Title: Did G'town travel on that last shot?
Post by: PowercatPosse on March 23, 2007, 08:41:44 PM
It was pretty close, but i think Green from G'town may have traveled on that last shot

It might have been tough to see in live action though.   He did pick up his pivot foot before going up for that shot.

CBS just showed the replay and they said he traveled too.

Like i said it is a tough call to make, but a tough break for Vandy that the call was missed when they played pretty solid D.

Why do people say it would have been a 'tough call to make'?

It would be the right call to make. It was the definition of traveling. No shades of gray.

I say it was a tough call because Green picked up his dribble, lost the ball for a split second and there were bodies all around Green.

I could not see his feet very good from the TV live feed, but saw it on the replay.

I just hate the fact that for the second night in a row a call or non call with 3 seconds had an impact on the game.   The foul on aTm last night was weak as he!! and never should have been called.  Tonight, the traveling call should have been called

So the refs have essentially screwed the ending up of most of these sweet 16 games?

yes he traveled.  but if you're gonna complain about that no call, then complain about it when it happens with 15:43 in the first half just across the time-line.  guys do this often if you pay attention.

Actually, if you watch the entire replay, he traveled two separate times during that single pivot. A modern miracle it wasn't called at all during those 2-3 seconds.

I call it a "miracle" because I have G-town in the championship game.

Yes, he travelled.  No, it should not have been called.  In the last ten seconds of a game the refs should be less involved, not more.  See Texas A&M.

If it's a travel, it should be called.

The officiating I've seen over the last couple of days hasn't been very good.  Makes me think that the officials currently working have been left behind by the speed of today's game.  Maybe that's why the NBA doesn't even bother to try to call traveling anymore.

I saw the Georgetown play as a travel immediately, but it wasn't like he did something off-the-charts.  Let the players play.

Pasco was off-the-charts.

Dumb. A travel is a travel no matter when it happens.
