How suspicious is the automatic notion that the defense is never anything but super studly, and anyone who throws for 280 yards against it must be, too - could the headlines have easily read "Defense Sucks Fat One in A-Day Game" and wrung hands over the fate of a unit that was ripped to shreds by Brandon Cox, whose numbers Saturday would represent the best game of the senior-to-be's career to date if they counted? Ah, but see, they were hurt over there. That's all. Just wait until Quentin Groves is back in the Fall, and then you'll see.

What were you talking about with Tim Weiser last night, Jeffrey?
:peek:
-
Me and Tim are cool. We were catching up. I voiced some concerns, and he voiced his. For real, we have a good give-and-take that way. He listens, which is rare for folks in administration.
He's someone who will remain a friend when I move on from these parts...
And now that I've evaded the question, is everyone excited about football?
-
Concerns?
-
Nothing major.
Check your PM, by the way...
-
well now I'm curious....
-
Totally unrelated, FB. For real.
Nothing is going on. I promise.
-
'scool..... And yes, excited for football.... Can't wait to get piss pounded by auburn on national TV.
-

You seriously can't be moving on until after next basketball season, right? You'd surely not forego the opportunity to see Beasley and Walker in person nearly 30+ times.

What the hell, I thought covering KSU sports was like the pinnacle of your profession????
Am I wrong? Could you really want to move on? Anymove from here would be downward...well, okay, maybe lateral.
Football, I just hope someone somewhere will be blogging about how great Josh Freeman looked during the spring game.
-
I ready to argue with Rusty why this was a bad decision.

Let's get it on, &@#%er!

They are going to ass-stomp us, and I'm really not all that excited for the game.
It's basically an automatic loss.
No one across the nation is excited for this game. Everyone just views it as a rummy for Auburn.
we need to start small, bring on illinois state
-
What if we end up 5-7?
Was this game worth an extra B12 win?
We got 3 wins in OOC. I truly mean this when I say that if we can't get 3 conference wins when we draw Baylor/oSu from the South then we don't deserve/I wouldn't want to see that bowl game.
my thoughts exactly. This loss to Louisville should not decide if we go to a bowl game.
-
Changed.
Difference between 9-3 and 8-4 is huge and overcomes the weak scheduling perception
-
No.
8-4 + loss to Auburn + ESPN >>>> 9-3 over 3 cupcakes + Wyattvision
-
what if we beat them?
If anything else, everyone will watch. At least in big 12 country.
-
I don't mind the Auburn game, it's the Fresno game that's ridiculously stupid. That whole contract (and the Marshall one as well) is/was worthless for KSU.
-
I think Fresno will be balling by the end of the season.
What do you all think K-State's Big 12 record will be? Non-con could be a mess...
-
3-5/4-4
-
3-5/4-4
And what non-con?
-
I think we'll be 6-6 (4-4)
-
9-3/8-4 :koolaid:
-
2-2 non-con, 7-5 overall, maybe 8-4, if Josh can extract some revenge on the huskers.
Is Fresno st. suppose to be legit next year? apparently Jeff seems to think so. If it was at home, I give the win to us.

Big 12 record = 3-4/4-4 (depending on how bad the north is)
Non con = 2-2/3-1
...I'll note that this is my prediction, but I will be disappointed if it comes true. We should have an 8-4 season.
-
I'm actually pumped for the Fresno game; I'll be there visiting my sister in cali, and she's supposed to get us some kick ass seats.
Auburn... not so much.... I honestly have no idea what to expect for this upcoming season.... I guess I'd be content with any record as good or better than last years....
-
I think we'll go 6-6. Auburn will roll us laughing all the way. I hope I'm at work during this game.
I know this is sinking to their level, but if we just beat ku i'll be content. I'm sick and tired of their fans dogging us for sweeping us in everything this year.
-
Auburn will be tough, especially away from the Bill. But you should never discount a group of kids with an extreme hunger to win, which I hope these guys have. Beating Auburn will be very difficult, but if anything it gives us more national exposure. As far as Fresno State is concerned, there needs to be a story told to our boys about some bulldogs that came to Manhattan and caught us with our pants down in '04. A little motivation from the past to exact revenge could do a lot. That being said I think our boys can go 9-3 possibly 10-2. 3 losses=Auburn, Texas, Nebraska. (I hate saying a loss to NU!) 2 losses=Auburn, Texas. 11-1 would be great, but lets save that for 2008.

what would drive a person like weiser to ostracize a person like daxi from the athletic department?
sounds like you're saying daxi is section 8.
-
I think we go 3-1 in noncon. If we can't beat Fresno State, we probably don't deserve to go bowling.

Cross your fingers that we're healthier than we were that time last season and we will beat Fresno State. I totally agree that if we don't, going bowling is the least of our worries.

I remember that game.
Damn it was ugly.
Complete failure on our coaching staffs part to cash in on our successful 2002 and 2003 seasons recruiting wise.

I'll never forget that day. Mainly because I was in Nebraska at the time and they lost to Southern Miss that same day in Lincoln. Good God, you would've thought the sun wasn't going to come up the next day. The cornhole fans were devastated.
