BTW, SLB, while Columbia is a college town, it's more like a Mountain Brook on steroids, especially the south of town, where not a single house sells for under $500K. If you go south of Forum Boulevard, it's like you've entered another world, a world of very, very rich people surrounding the richest of all (Laurie). The shops are as upscale or moreso than the most upscale shops in Birmingham or even St. Louis, the restaurants are upscale; heck, even the public bathrooms are upscale (a McDonald's there has a full-time bathroom attendant, for crying out loud, and table service). You can bet money the family won't ever drive north of campus, except to get on I-70, which they'll likely never do, because they'll just drive East on Forum to 63 South in their new car, drive south to the airport, and hop on that private jet to get wherever they need to go.
