It's not because our NCAA drought will now be 12 years long.
It's not because it shows the lack of respect for Kansas State
It's not because Arkansas at 7-9 got in.
(actually it is all of those)
But I really thought we could have made the sweet 16. With the way this team played on neutral floors all season, I have no doubt we could have had a solid chance to beat a 6/3 or a 5/4.
Unreal. This is right up there with the 98 TAMU game.

No doubt. The teams slotted against us in the bracket would've been bitching non-stop about the unfair seeding.
-
Digger Phelps is PISSED about us not getting in.
-
Right, what pisses me off the most is that I think we could have done some damage in that thing.
-
Yeah, you weren't even good enough to be in. But had you been selected, there's no doubt you would have made the Sweet 16.
Priceless.
-

Dude. You're not even going to the NIT. Why are you talking trash? You know nothing about basketball.
-
Nebraska sucks....so what? I'm a Creighton fan anyway, and they're in.
-
I'm ill because it seemed that the committee didn't hardly watch the games or evaluate how good teams were on the floor at the end of the season. When they did watch, they felt sorry for the teams that were "tired" from their excruciating match-up with RPI #300 (or so) Colorado.
-
Nebraska sucks....so what? I'm a Creighton fan anyway, and they're in.
I don't even know what to say.
-
So you didn't get into the NCAA Tournament....so what?
There's a reason that you weren't mentioned until the Selection Show was almost over....and until Drexel and all of the real bubble teams had been discussed at length. It's because you weren't even that close to being in.
K-State fans deluded themselves into thinking their team was relevant....true in basketball, just like in football. But hey, maybe you can win the NIT, and then you'd have one trophy from a major sport in your trophy case.
Although, winning the NIT has to be a little bit like medaling in the Special Olympics.
If you want to get in, win enough games that the selection committee doesn't have a choice but to let you win...or win the conference...or schedule tougher opponents and beat them. But for God's sake, quit the whining!
-
what is it that youre trying to say?
-
Actually, that makes total sense. A guy with the name "Husker fan" that's trying to talk trash because Creighton got in.
That doesn't scream bandwagon or anything.
-
Although, winning the NIT has to be a little bit like medaling in the Special Olympics.
I figgered you'd know what that's like.

excellent post! I co-sign this one.

I root for the Huskers in football because I'm from Nebraska. I root for Creighton in basketball because I've been a fan since I was like 5.
Not that hard to understand.

Nope, not at all. You're a bandwagon fan. Congrats on coming out of the closet about it.
-

That's sweet dude! I root for ku in basketball and KSU in football and people give me trash, but its way cooler to follow teams that win all the time than wait for my own team to be worth a $h1t.
-
You're an idiot homer who thought your worthess team would get into the tournament, when in reality they wre probably the 75th team on the list. You're in good company on this board.
-

Nope, you've been a Creighton fan for 7 years....easy

Most of us here are from and/or live in Kansas. Should we root for KSU, ku, wsu, ft. hays, emporia, etc.?
-
Most of the people in Omaha are Creighton basketball fans, and Nebraska football fans, because Creighton is located in Omaha, but does not have a football team, and Nebraska has the only Div. I football team in the state.
If you have trouble figuring that out, it's no wonder you're still befuddled by a mediocre K-State team being left out of the tourney.
-
It's nothing close to the 98 TAMU loss.
As solid as this team could be on a neutral floor, they were just as capable of shooting 32% and losing by 12. The funny thing about this tourney is that sometimes a team that gets in that nobody feels is worthy, (U.ARK) makes a 3 game run and makes the committee look good. I hope Ark falls on their face, but sometimes a weird team catches fire.
-
I understand now. He's a creighton basketball fan because they're good at basketball and he lives in Nebraska.
If that's the case, can I be a ku basketball fan since I'm from Kansas? ku owns Creighton.
Oh wait. Oops.
How does it feel to know that your coach is a guy that K-state fired? Yeah. Owned.
-
Most of the people in Omaha are Creighton HUGE BANDWAGON basketball fans, and Nebraska football fans, because Creighton is located in Omaha, but does not have a football team, and Nebraska has the only Div. I football team in the state.
If you have trouble figuring that out, it's no wonder you're still befuddled by a mediocre K-State team being left out of the tourney.

An entire state of shameless, spineless, $h1t-talking bandwagoners. I understand completely.
-
Most Americans (excluding Nebraska) root for the school they attended or have some affiliation with other than having the misfortune of being born within the state/city border of said school.
-
KSU would beat Creighton by 30.
-
The explanation is basically "We're fans because we don't have anyone else to root for. I'd be an NU basketball fan, but they suck, and I only stick with teams that do well in their sport. So I can be an NU football fan, but not a basketball fan."
IE: Bandwagon fan. This is also known as a T-shirt fan. It's like being a USC fan during football season and Duke in basketball season.
Yes, you're in the same group as those people.

So is UNO why don't you root for them as well?

and the majority of ku basketball fans

How does it feel to know that your coach is a guy that K-state fired? Yeah. Owned.
How does it feel to see Dana Altman in the tournament every year, and K-State left on the sidelines fighting for a NIT bid...now just who exactly got owned?
Creighton would dispose of K-State with no problems.
-
I can't believe that moron admitted he's a t-shirt fan still.
They're like the worst fans in sports.
-
Because we lost to Colorado State, Nebraska, that's why I'm ill. Had we won those games, we would be in.
-
Yeah, getting punked by Nebraska didn't help your chances.
-
Nebraska sucks....so what? I'm a Creighton fan anyway, and they're in.
Just to let you know... you misspelled your screen name then!
-
Since Creighton apparently gets every resident of Omaha as a fan, they should start up a fund-raising effort to establish a football team.
-
Creighton is a small private Jesuit school, with no need for a football team. They compete in basketball, baseball, etc. however, and do pretty well.
-
I root for the Huskers in football because I'm from Nebraska. I root for Creighton in basketball because I've been a fan since I was like 5.

No, it really isn't. I haven't found too many Husker fans who actually cheer for the Huskers during basketball season. They're all either Creighton fans or ku fans. Rather pathetic.
-
keep feeding him tools.

Desperate to change the subject much? :D
K-State is out of the tournament...again. Creighton is in, with your old coach. That's just funny. Had you kept Altman, maybe you'd field a competitive basketball team.

Think 5-seed USC wanted to see us as a 12?

Why not just give USC a bye?

youre such a hypocrite..
with your millions of lousy threads...
dont call me a dumb ass you worthless &@#%.
-
youre completely worthless fatty.
you and rusty can go &@#% yourselves.
-
Didn't the guy on CBS say that like 104 teams had 20 or more wins this year? It gets harder to make the tournament every year. Crazy that 7 teams from the ACC got in...isn't that half or more of the conference?
Still not quite sure why people seem to think K-State getting in was a sure thing. From the way it sounds, you guys were a bubble team, but not even on the top of the bubble list.
-

I'm sure you were one of the 1,000 fans who regularly attended Creighton games in the years leading up to the hiring of Altman.
-

LOL. Point me to the tread where all of this started.
-
this was it...kinda.
i dont know.
-
Maybe your time would be better spend contemplating why your team's not in the tourney than questioning my credentials to root for a team that is.
In addition, since firing Altman, has Creighton or K-State made the tournament more often? Whoever made that move isn't looking much like Mr. Wizard.
-
creighton = fisher price league.
ksu = older brother that is cooler and smokes league.
-

your talking to a school that has a coach that will more than likely end up in the top 5 winningest coaches of all time. spare me your convoluted discussion.
