I'm already spending over $20/month at Blockbuster. So this is a cost-cutting measure.
Added F Word, didn't add Existenz.

netflix is worth it. ive had it for a year now.

I've got a movie of Stew doing KatKid's girlfriend from the back but sadly it's not available via Netflix and therefore cannot make your "queue (sp?)".

Thanks.
We use it to watch TV shows we missed, or season we missed, etc. It's great for that.

Anyone want to do the Netflix friends thingy? pm if interested.

Renting 4 movies at Blockbuster costs $17.
3 movies at a time from netflix is $16/month.
Blockbuster on line deal is better; 2 movies at a time. Take the movie back to the store, you get a free one, including new releases, so essentually you get 4 at a time. You get an additional online coupon for a free movie (includind new releases) out of the water. Much better deal than Netflix and I've done both. Same price, $16.

We suck at returning movies. We would get late charges.
-
True, we are the same way. But we live close to Blockbuster so we haven't had any issues and this has been better than Netflix for us. We probably get 12-15 movies a month with the Blockbuster deal for $16 though, that's hard to beat.

I worked at the Blockbuster in Manhattan for like 3 years...
Blockbuster definately blows; Not nearly as lame as hastings. But it was fun to work at... One time I put the new release movies up on the outside marquee... I always put them in alphabetical order... the movies were
The Grinch
Made
Pooty Tang
We got so many freak'n complaints about that... I left it up for 2 weeks.
Edited: added marquee story I just remembered.
-
But not nearly as lame as Hasting's for movies.
WTH are you talking about Willie? From my experience Hasting's usually has a much bigger selection and it's cheaper.
How much did they pay you to rent out movies?
-

I meant lame as in everyone that worked there was a loser. One time hastings employees actually picketed us because we accidently rented out a movie to a customer when the movie wasn't officially released yet.
They stood in the parking lot of the car wash with signs that said "Blockbuster releases movies illegally" or something like that... We just went out and laughed at them.
How much did they pay you to rent out movies?
How much did I make there? Dont remember... probably like $6.50 an hour or something...

Another cool thing about working there; Mark Dunn's wife used to come in and rent movies on a weekly basis; and man was she smok'n hot. I guess when you're mormon and you live in a sin filled college town, all you do is watch movies.
I also got a ton of free "broken" stuff.

What kind of movies does a Mormon rent?
I bet she watches Big Love.
-
I'll bet she watches Orgazmo.
One time I asked a Blockbuster if they had that and the lady I asked was yelling across the store asking about it...she couldn't get it right she said "Orgasm something!!!". Then asked me to clarify. Then she yelled it again. Really loud. There were a lot of families there. I was
-
Go to "Family Video". They rent porn. Fred Phelps picketed them alot when they first opened here in Topeka.

Platoon Leader
Band of the Hand
The Warriors
Cobra
Repo Man

I've tried to start this discussion like 4 times. It is an excellent show. The 2nd season is kind of cheesy but the 3rd makes up for it. The music selection totally makes the show, imo. Each season's soundtrack is amazing. My Morning Jacket's version of Rocket Man is

Just got netflix about a month ago. Watching instantly via blu ray player is pretty nice feature. Only time I use redbox now is when they send me a free rental code (about once a month).

What a damn coincidence. I just got done signing up for Netflix and that was the first movie I watched. I intended on starting a thread Re: Netflix, but found this timely bump instead. What are the opinions of those that have Netflix for an extended period? Not as many movies as I had hoped for. Lots of tv series though, so that's cool. Gonna go back and watch Californication from the beginning. (Started watching this previous season.) Prob gonna go ahead and watch Dexter as I already own the season one set. (X-mas gift I haven't watched yet.) How quickly can I expect the movies in my queue to start showing up? Should I stick with the cheapo one disc out at a time, unlimited plan or move up the food chain a bit? TIA.

Signed up late last night, first movie was shipped this morning and should be here Monday. Netflix has tons of movies I always said I would watch sometime but haven't yet, so that will keep my queue full for quite some time. I'll have to keep an eye out for their suggestions. Plus, it's pretty cool to be able to stream some random movie when I don't have anything on my DVR to watch. Really liking it so far, can't believe I waited this long to at least give it a shot.
