Title: Evans Overrated?
Post by: ksuno1stunner on March 01, 2007, 10:34:48 PM
Not the best ranking out of high school.  Overrated?  Everyone builds him up to be a top 10 player.

I watch guys on TV in the NBA, and to me it looks like they ain’t playing hard enough. Maybe it’s just the TV, but I think I could play with them right now.”

Did anyone outside people like AfCat et al. actually think of him as a top ten player?  He's gold for us becuase we currently suck so bad at shooting.  That warrants a little 'thank &@#%ing god we finally have someone that can make a shot,' IMO.

also, the attention he received despite being a rapist/team cancer is very encouraging.

FWIW...

Clent Stewart - #116 Overall, #22 SG
Tyree Evans - #121 Overall, #24 SG

I just want to know why he was rated so bad.

I suppose he was bumped up to #60 in 2005.

You're right, but in 2005, out of prep school.

This is him in 2004.

Look, this thread is more of a "This is too good to be true" than a "He's not very good" thread.

Well Stunner, in 1994 he wasn't even rated by Rivals.  I think the ranking when they are ready to go to college is probably the rating that has the most significance.  Ratings are what they are, but he was #60 when he would've been signed to come to college.  The fact he was rated around where Stewart was previously is cause for fodder, but I'm more concerned where he is now.
