Title: Jay Bilas
Post by: catsfan20012002 on February 28, 2007, 10:00:12 AM
It's Wednesday which can mean only one thing.....Duke Boy is going to be on "Crunch Time" during the next hour and talk about stuff that people in Big XII country don't care about. Just thought I'd give you a "heads up" in case heck freezes over even though we know it won't.

Bilas: KSU is not in.

We are CU 04.

KSU: 20-10, 9-6, 58 RPI, 89 SOS, 1-6 vs Top 50, 6-4 last 10, 8-8 neutral/road.
CU: 17-10, 10-6, 57 RPI, 64 SOS, 2-7 vs Top 50, 6-4 last 10, 6-7 neutral/road.

It would be more interesting if everyone interviewed a different Big XII beat writer instead of a different national talking head (Rick Majerus excluded - love that guy.  Gottlieb, too).

Replace Bilas with the Omaha WH guy Shatel(?)...Andy Katz with Chip Brown(?) in Dallas...Mike DeCoursey with Jeffrey Martin, etc.

The national guys have so much to cover, there's no way they can watch every Big XII game.  The local guys aren't household names, but they know a hell of a lot more.

So are we cheering for a TT loss @ ISU?  Or do we want them to win (and assuming we win against OU) to set up an all or nothing 4/5 game in the Big 12 tourney?  I guess either way, we'd have to face Tech, so it won't really matter what they've done.

Holy Crizzap.....

He said that we could fall just short and a team like Florida State or Georgia Tech could get in. It might have been bad news but at least he mentioned us.

We want Tech to be as highly rated as possible.  Them winning out is better for us, them losing does nothing to help us.

We don't need anymore in depth tunnel vision Big 12 coverage on 810.  They talk about the local teams all the time.  Personally, getting the perspective of the national guys that don't live and breathe Big 12 basketball is a nice change of pace.  It puts a perspective on everything.

The best example of that is Gottlieb and ku.  All season(even when ku lost a few games) he has been talking about what he sees out of ku and what he sees out of the other top national teams and that ku compares favorably.  The local guys don't watch any national basketball and basically give the same perspective as you would get from the actual hosts.

When they're on, it's painfully obvious they rarely watch anyone but ku and A&M.  If they're on, I'd rather they just admit they haven't watched KSU or MU or OU or ISU or NU or CU instead of giving an ignorant take, even if it's a "fresh" one.

No take > retarded take
