The game plan shows which phases affect a team's offensive and defensive efficiency most. Shooting % obviously has the biggest effect on just about every team, but for KSU, our next most important factor is creating turnovers. He explains it a little more here.

Interesting thing about OSU: How well they shoot has a large effect on how well they play defense, and how well their opponents shoot has a large effect on how well they play offense. In other words, we need to shoot well tonight.
Riveting stuff from this Pomeroy guy.

He is a huge nerd.

So do you own this Oliver guy's book? I'm already assuming sys has it memorized. :)

I would love to do what he does full time.

Isn't he a meteorologist or something? He does the hoops stuff when he gets home to his parents basement after a long day of working on wrong forecasts.

Yeah, I'd still love to do that full time. Like the nerds that Billy Beane hired or something.

Yeah, he works for the National Weather Service. The basketball stats stuff is just his hobby, not sure if he gets paid or not. Glad he hasn't sold out and made his stuff subscription based.
"There's more money in weather," Pomeroy said. "If somebody was willing to pay, basketball would be full time and weather would be my hobby."

My avatar > Rusty's avatar, which is the worst relic from the worst period in Kansas State basketball.

If pomeroy did football, the 2002 and 2003 KSU football teams would both be national champs.

I wish you'd appreciate how incredibly dominating those football teams were. Every game we won was a 30+ blowout, and our 6 losses over those two years were by a combined 29 points.
