Title: Question for those that don't sit in the student section
Post by: fatty fat fat on February 26, 2007, 09:02:09 PM
How much does it suck (for the big home games) that your section is incredibly lame and if you do the cheers the students do (such as the "dead beat daddy..etc) you get those looks?

I honestly see no point in sitting there. It must suck big-time being forced to act like you are at your son's soccer game.

For the crappy OOC games, it's perfect.

It's not THAT bad...There's a guy about my age that sits behind me with his dad, and they are usually into the games (though not likely to renew with the new $$$)...and there is a guy just down a few rows and across the aisle that comes with his dad and his son and gets all wound up...he actually got booted out of a game by his wife last season...hilarious.

The worst part of my seats is that we have the aisle between us and the court and there's always a steady stream of folks that treat it like a social event walking down the aisle blocking our view...and that our sections sit more than they stand..

Section 3 has actually been fairly into games this year...5,6, and 7, however, are dead most of the time.

Section 18 is pretty good, lots of standing and screaming. Right near the students, low rows without the wait.

I'm jealous of the folks at the bottom of Section 18...About row 10 would be perfection.

My parents are getting tickets there next year, I think.  Fun place to sit.

I enjoy the stand up, point, yell at the refs, and sit back down move.

Everyone in my section was chanting with the students at the ku game

The ku game was the only game where people in my section stood the entire game....it was quite enjoyable.  But the people around me are pretty cool, they haven't said anything to me about my cussing yet.

Did anyone else see the 80 year old man that sits at the top of one of the west side sections walk down by the court and scream at the refs? I think it was the ku game. From the SS it looked like he was complaining BS was out of the box.  He was down there for about 10 minutes and security had to get him to go back up. Quite possibly one of the funniest things I've seen this year.

He had me laughing for about 10 minutes and I was over in the student section.  You could just see everyone over there either laughing or with a surprised look on there face, he needs to do that every game.

I am graduating this semester, but I want to keep getting student section tickets. Any ideas besides trying to buy them from all from a student?

Enroll. Pay fifteen bucks for your student ID then drop out of the classes before the deadline.

Well, it's certainly not like sitting in the SS.  But that's expected.  I have a great time regardless.  And as Huggs gets our asses accustomed to winning, the atmosphere will get wilder.
