Can't believe we haven't started this yet. Not the rivalry of other games, but the biggest impact game for our post season hopes. Perception wise, this game has gone from an assumed auto loss for KSU to a "KSU could and should win if they wan to make the Big Dance".
1) Limit Curry and Boggan. Akeem will be critical on Curry, Colon and JB will be vital to limiting Boggan in the paint.
2) KSU's D will be critical.
3) OSU does a poor job on D, as long as we have an average night of offense, our D wil carry us to the W.
4) Wear them out with our deeper bench.
KSU by 5.
73-68 :beerchug:

put maybank in there and have our guys drive to the hoop. mizzou cut through their d like a knife through butter.

[/quote]Agreed. Curry and Boggan take almost 50% of their shots and they have way too short a bench (3 guys over 34 min vs TTU)
If we can force any type of foul trouble, they will be hurting. Gottlieb said last night that they were starting to find something. I want to know what that something is, becuase they only thing they will be finding is themselves at home for an NIT game.

I say flip the score.
73-68 Pokes
-
68-60 Cats
-
87-79 Cowgirls.

Kilgore,
No way OSU puts 80+ on KSU (without OT, which would be nothing new for those pokes). See PP's points below. I expect our Wildcats will be very physical and out tuff 'em in this one. This will by Huggieball at its best :boxing:

They have really struggled offensivly the last 4 games ---
1) only ave 55.3 per game in those 4 losses
2) only shooting 37.8% from the field
3) only shooting 27% from 3-pt land
4) Curry is 16-50 FG (32%)
5) Boggan only attempted 8 FTs
6) PG Eaton did not start and only played 31 minutes combined in the past 2 games

Just calling them as I see them. Their streak of crap games has to end sometime and our first half in Boulder wasn't exactly stellar.

But our second half was. K-State by five.

We NEED this win to carry any sort of momentum/excitement into post-season.
I say Cats 75 Okst 70
The key is getting Hoskins to create foul trouble on Boggan.

I think he will be able to..

he did a horrible job against Maric and ku.

Boggan is not a very good defensive player. I think Hoskins will have a big game.

What are all these high scores!?! This is going to be a defensive battle.
58-54 KSU

I agree. Low scoring but I think OSU is going to win the ball game.

Okie Lite has lost two in a row at home for the first time in like 20 years ... I don't like our odds of pushing the streak to three. They're *way* too athletic for us at every position but especially the guards, we're just not quick or skilled enough to hang with them. Pray they've thrown in the towel on their season because that's the only way we win this one.

OSU has lost 2 at home for a reason. #1: This is a very tired, depleted team. Any boost from being pissed at 0-2 will be gone if KSU does not come out flat (see at ku). #2: This team is no defensive juggernaut. KSU will win if the score for OSU is less than 65. More talent? Maybe Curry and Boggan (although Boggan is a pos on defense). We are the better team with Obi hurt. Our offense will put 70 on these guys, Hoskins, Martin as usual with another suspect...likely Maybank in this one. We will wear them out. The only D they faced all year like we will put on them were: 1)ku=owned OSU 2) aTM=see ku

Line opened at OSU by 1.5-don't think Vegas expects a high scoring affair either.

I've heard storied of the legend Weston Fox and all I'm saying is that if I ran into him on the street I would get down on my knees and suck him dry. I'm as straight as a yard stick and I would do that, thats the kind of badass he is.]

I don't necessarily disagree with that but nothing there is inconsistent with what I said above. Having seen OSU play a few times this year it appears to me that their guards are sufficiently athletic and sufficiently good at pressuring the ball in their halfcourt D to give us quite a bit of trouble. Our guards aren't particularly athletic and don't have great ball handling or passing skills, we don't match up well with them there at all. If the pokes show up and play hard KSU will need a very good effort to keep the turnover number even remotely respectable.
The matchup with Boggan worries me less than Monds. Colon's really the only player we have that matches up well physically with Monds but Luis isn't likely to play more than 10-15 minutes max. Look for Monds to have a big night on the boards and to get a few cheap points on putbacks. He'll likely score and rebound above his average tonight, I think we can hold Boggan below his averages.

Good points as well. It seems MU puts better pressure on the the ball (along with aTm & ku) than does OSU. The only team out of those that seemed to totally outmatch us was ku. This game should be a barn burner very similar to the MU games and I expect our guards to show up and handle the pressure similar to the 2nd MU game. Monds could definately be big. Akeem should be able to keep Curry under control.

87-79 Cowgirls.
Worse than I thought. "They won't score 80+"
:jerkoff:

Yeah, our homerism showed in this one.
That said, I won't be shocked to see OSU go to Waco and lose saturday.

Pokes played great. Our defense got off the bus somewhere near Salina last I heard. :banghead:
